Let the alterations begin!

KatieBugg247, on October 16, 2019 at 10:51 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 4

So tomorrow evening I will be going to my local bridal shop to meet with a seamstress to get my dress altered. Since I am still losing weight I am just going to ask for it to be altered for the length I want rather than take it in right now. I am excited about it until I remember I do not have a bra yet and still need to get that taken care of.

For the bigger chested ladies on here, how hard is it to find the right bra? I was thinking maybe a corset style but I dont think I would be comfortable. Does anyone have any advice? Not just about the bra but the appointment tomorrow itself. I know I need to bring the shoes I will be wearing but is there anything else I should bring?

Busty bride over here too! When I went to try on dresses, they put me in a corset bra and I felt so secure in it. It kept my tummy in, I didn't feel like it was slipping down (since the hooks went all down the back), and it was actually pretty comfortable!

My dress luckily had a built in bra so I didn't need one but I got something with minimal padding to add extra space up front just in case but it fits so well without a bra I didn't need it. I also ended up having to place a corset because we unexpectedly got pregnant and I'll be well 27 weeks. A dress can always be taken in too if it doesn't fit the way you want in the chest too

Hey there! How did the alterations appointment go? Did it ease your concerns in any way?

It actually had to get moved, she had a family emergency and I will be going on the 29th. But all the comments and advice everyone has given to me is very helpful. I am more excited anxious about it than nervous.
