I also have a tulle ballgown and thought about cutting of the train, but I think I am going to do a train flip. IMO I think regular bustles look like saggy diapers.

My dress is a trumpet style dress. We had such a hard time doing different bustles and ultimately I decided to go with a different style..... a side bustle. It flatters me more this way.

I had a single point bustle and it broke within 5 mins so I had to hold my train in one hand to dance.

It was a single layer silk fabric so no bother, but make sure you check the strength of it with your dressmaker!

@Jenna - I love you bustle. I think that's what mines is going to look like as well. at least that's what the pinning of mine Sunday looked like. How exactly did yours work? The seamstress told me there is a ring and a ribbon and your just loop it through?

@snappylove2015: from what i understand (hearing her show my FMIL how to do it, lol!) the bottom layer under the lace skirt loops up under and ties. then the lace layer is picked up and attached with buttons. everything is color coded and she used left over lace from hemming to cover the buttons (because they're are on the outside of the skirt) so that they blend in with the dress and you can't see them unless you know they're there and looking for them. there is seven points.
