I love children. I ADORE CHILDREN.

But if you have children that you do not discipline, DON'T BRING THEM AROUND ME!!

FH and I are having a relatively child free wedding (no children outside of the wedding party)

Its a night wedding. Its formal. Find a babysitter. Have a drink. Get a hotel room and practice making the next baby!!

Our wedding is not YOUR family reunion. Nor should I be responsible for stopping your child from knocking over the cake.

I went to a wedding and saw a child lift up the brides dress and try to play hide and seek under it during the first dance!!

BTW this is not directed toward WW Brides who have children. I'm sure your babies are well behaved. FH has a cousin who does not discipline her children and even if it is clear they are not invited, would show up and throw them on the mercy of other people while she gets drunk.

@Anniebell8389 thank you. I wasn't trying to offend WW brides with kids but my goodness, some of the people on my guest list are really irresponsible with their kids.

@Breanna I caught a couple of people on here who were lol. I had to explain that this isn't about parents who don't have anyone else to watch their kids, its about irresponsible parents who have bad ass menace to society children LOL

Definitely just got hit with the "not having kids at your wedding is rude to the parents" comment at work. Irony... the coworker who said this does not have kids and is not invited -_-

Haha! I LOVE your comment! And feel the same way. The only kids we are having at our wedding are my niece and nephew and they're in the wedding party. If we did invite all kids, we would almost have to double the amount of people we invite and we sure as heck can't afford that!

Hear, hear, sister! Our wedding is supposed to be child-free except for the FG, but we got bullied into allowing a second child who is infamous for misbehaving. I made it very clear that this child (age 10) and the adults with him will be promptly escorted out if he does anything disruptive (including playing on his phone during our device-free ceremony). What's up with people who feel entitled to bring their kids to a wedding that is very clearly stated to be adults only?

That's so not true. Don't you just love when people give their two cents when you didn't ask for it? *eye roll*. I specifically asked three of my friends with young children how they feel about it, and they all said they are so grateful for the child-free night out and they are looking forward to having a great time without having to worry about where their little heathens are.

You’re better than me. I don’t like kids. My wedding will be children free.

I absolutely love the whole post, all or most of the comments. I too am having an adult only event, why? because I am the one organizing it. And yes a million times to the comment about "but when you become a parent, you give some stuff up. One of those things is the freedom to go anywhere you want at any time without a care in the world, expecting any given environment, no matter how special it is to someone else" I don't have children yet and yes I do want some in the future but know that this event is not for them and instead of getting bad responses your invitees should be understanding and should not assume you hate all children you just want a stress free fun event for everyone including parents ( minus the kids)Smiley smile
