Lawn Games?

Anyone having any lawn games, or attended a wedding with any? I'm looking into having cornhole and giant jenga, think it might be fun for the guests who don't want to dance and the kids. Already planning on having coloring books for little ones, think they might also enjoy them. Any suggestions,...

I like your idea of mad libs for the older kids, might need to steal that one.

We had custom cornhole boards made, they were a hit. We placed them outside on the terrace our venue has that is adjacent to the ballroom.

Yes! I was the DOC for a close friends wedding last summer and they had yard games setup. The guests LOVED them - it was a great way to have a little more fun, especially for those that aren't big dancers - grab a beer and play bags, horseshoes, ladder golf, giant jenga - a blast! We actually made them a personalized set of bean bags for their wedding gift - so it was great to see them get used on their special day.

We are having our cocktail hour right around sunset, and our entire room is being flipped so it will be a full hour and 15 minutes or so. We are definitely going to have some lawn games. We'll have a basket with frisbees, soccer balls, and squishy footballs, plus corn hole and a few other lawn games. Depending on wind we may put some board games out as well. We are well known amongst friends for our game nights and when we go to bars we always play corn hole so we feel like it's a perfect thing to add to our day!

I went to a wedding that had a ton of lawn games and the dance floor was empty all night. It’s like the men had something else to do and so didn’t dance at all. We’re having fire pits open at our wedding but they’re gas powered and have an attendant from our venue all night there. I’m hoping it’s a nice place for our friends to take a break but doesn’t take away from the dance floor.
