*jumps onto soap box* Biiish!!! I did NOT work this hard or this long for you to wait to reply to whether or not you're coming based upon a whim on whether or not your favorite TV show will be on that weekend! If you're coming, reply to the RSVP, for crying out loud!!
Heck it's even online so that you don't have to involve the US mail! (Or were you just gonna blame them for the tardy reply? "They must have lost it" Get yourself together!

*jumps off soap box because I'm short and afraid of heights* There... I feel a little better now.

I would estimate 5% of my invited guests looked at my website. I'm pretty flummoxed by it. I thought it would make things so much easier for everyone, but instead, my fiance and I are fielding constant questions about hotel blocks and timing of things. IT'S ON THE WEBSITE.

I assume most won't read it and we will get calls or texts. To which I'll respond that everything is on the website. There is no mailed RSVP option, so that should help ensure people at least have to go to the website which could increase interest in reading the FAQ.

If they received a STD, yes they do. They’ve had months to plan or decide if they are going to attend. When I get invites to weddings, I RSVP within 2-3 days. It’s not hard.

No, they don't. Not everyone is able to know months out from an event whether they will be able to attend. How nice for you that you're able to commit so far out, but a lot of people don't have that luxury. Many work schedules don't let you schedule time off that far in advance, another are other obligations that people have that limit their ability to know more than a month in advance, not to mention financial reasons.

Luckily we can all agree to disagree here and effectively stop a conversation from descending into poor behavior on the thread

Again, if you receive a STD, you have plenty of time to PLAN. Allowing you to request time off of work, save money, find child care, or any other things that may be needed. When invitations come out, typically 8 weeks before a wedding date, most people should know within the first week if they will be able to attend or not. So, again... being a responsible adult and adequately planning is not hard. If you can't get time off of work or afford to go to the wedding, then just RSVP no.

I’m not sure why this is so hard for you to grasp. It has nothing to do with being an adult. Not all jobs allow you to know 2+ months out whether you will be able to attend. Not all jobs allow you to request time off 2 months in advance. Not all jobs will let you know for sure that you can have that time off 2 months out, even if you can put the request in. Not all family situations can be solved 2 months in advance. And guess what? That’s perfectly fine. There is absolutely nothing wrong with not knowing yet whether you can attend when you receive an invitation; you just need to respond by the RSVP date. That’s why reasonable RSVP dates are 1 month or less from the event date, and why it’s considered bad etiquette to request unnecessarily early responses.

Ok I will try to ask nicely again... if you feel so strongly about continuing to bicker about this subject, can you please continue it somewhere else?

    Thank you in advance

I told everyone including the wedding party that they had the RSVP. I need all the counts for mmy seating chart. I just don't understand why they can't take the few minutes to just RSVP!
