Late to the Party

Tbear, on September 5, 2019 at 10:11 AM Posted in Planning 0 30

There are ALWAYS those people who refuse to RSVP until the last moment...
*jumps onto soap box* Biiish!!! I did NOT work this hard or this long for you to wait to reply to whether or not you're coming based upon a whim on whether or not your favorite TV show will be on that weekend! If you're coming, reply to the RSVP, for crying out loud!!
Heck it's even online so that you don't have to involve the US mail! (Or were you just gonna blame them for the tardy reply? "They must have lost it" Get yourself together!

*jumps off soap box because I'm short and afraid of heights* There... I feel a little better now.

Glad you were able to feel a little better after your rant! My parents received a wedding invite about a week ago and had yet to RSVP. I was like, "Dad, they need those numbers!"

LOL....I get it. We are 2 days from the deadline and I haven't heard from about 40 invites.

We have had some declines that stung a little. Excuses that are incomprehensible to me. Did you really have those concert tickets a year ago when I sent the save the dates?

    Anyway..good luck to you.

OMG your rant is my current mood!!!! I can't deal at all, have 17 people including one of my groomsmen that have yet to RSVP!!! I am getting myself so worked up I start crying daily, I just don't understand why we can't get a simple yes or no. We are 17 days out from our wedding, and I need to do our seating chart.

I’m gonna the brazenly forward Groomzilla who CALLS them on my deadline date to ask them for their answers personally.
Maybe by that time, if they wanna give me a BS excuse, let em! Yet at this point, do it to my face.
We have past the time when you could have don’t it from the privacy of your bedroom on your laptop...

Same! Our deadline was Tuesday 09/03 and we still have 27 people to chase down. Why can't you just tell me if you are or are not coming?!

Feel ya. Mine were due the 1st and they are online RSVPs as well.

Missing a good hunk, but I feel comfortable enough to ask them directly. Starting that today, because I feel like you dont have to give people a buffer when you do online RSVPs.

I've already texted an aunt, cousin and good friend. They were all like "Oh my gosh I'm SO SORRY I forgot." They are human. People forget. Just remind them. Smiley smile

My deadline was August 1st and we just now got all of our responses back. Yeah, you read that right over a month after the deadline! At the time of the deadline we had only received responses from 1/3 of our guest list. When we reached our it took two or three tries (messages) before they would actually respond. Ugh, people!

I ended up replying for the majority of our guests that would not go online but in one way or another "let us know" they were coming or not. If I wanted to do it myself I wouldn't have spent time creating the website and streamlining the process for you!!!! UGH!

I had to call so many people because they missed the deadline. They told me yes and now i'm a week out and people are actually cancelling on me. So i've spent the last few days asking people who were cut to come last minute just so I don't have to pay for dinners that won't be eaten.

    People are just plain rude.

We had one family who didnt RSVP and took 2 weeks to get a hold of them. They finally told us to put down their mother as attending too (she was on the list) and that they would go pick her up for it.
So we added her and the family to the list. Turns out they didnt bother picking her up so we last minute added her for NOTHING. I was so annoyed by that. Though they gave us a very generous check but still....

I know the struggle! Luckily I had read a lot of these forums prior so I was 100% prepared to contact anyone that didn't respond and left us 10 days in between our RSVP date & when vendors needed the count.

Okay, 4 people that are participating (FH’s Brothers, SIL, and 1st Cousin) have not RSVP’d, but they’re arriving from FL and NY the week of. I will be picking one up from the Airport per conversation this week.

Some people may not think that they need to RSVP.

Anyone is welcome to attend the Ceremony.

However, if they didn’t RSVP, then their name will not be on the Seating Chart.

This means that they will not be able to eat.

I am with you on this! People know if they are coming within days of receiving an invitation! I don’t understand the hold up! We are still waiting for 18 guests to reply with 4 days until our RSVP deadline! We even sent STD’s out 6 months before out wedding date! It is so frustrating!

No, not everyone knows within days of receiving an invitation whether they're able to attend or not.
