Late night snack or food favors?

I'm contemplating whether I should offer a late night snack or just have some kind of food for favors at the end of the night. Either way I want to incorporate food! We had a popcorn bar with 3 different types of popcorn (plain, cheddar, & caramel), then we had Eminem's , pretzels, nuts, and a couple other things so they could make a party mix type of thing. We brought it out around 9 for our reception that ended at 1100 (after cake had been passed out). It was a huge it everyone absolutely loved it!!

We are having a 5 hour reception, cocktail hour starts at 6:30pm and the reception ends 11:30pm. Our venue is providing favors that are philly cheesteaks and tastykakes which are signature thing from Philly. (I'm from Philadelphia) My FH is SO excited about the favors! Smiley smile

We are doing a late night snack that the venue offers. I really wanted a taco truck to swing by but our venue does not allow for outside caterers.

We're doing late night pizza, all of our guests are big drinkers and will love it.

Our wedding is in Philly so we're doing Philly soft pretzels and bottled water for guests to grab as they leave.

We had a popcorn bar with truffle oil, different kinds of delicious salts, and some sweet toppings that I can't even remember because I was all over the more savory ones. I think it was my favorite food of the night. It was through our venue and they brought it out around 10:30 for a reception that ended at 12. I was on the fence about whether or not it was a waste of $, but I'm glad we got it.

DH's only request for the wedding was McDonalds as the late night snack. We went in 2 days before and pre ordered a bunch of burgers. I wasn't sure how it would go over but it was a hue hit! There was hardly any leftovers and people kept telling me how awesome it was.

We had both! Pralines as favors, and then mini grilled cheeses and pulled pork biscuits as late night snacks.

I had both, and I think guests were happier about the late night snack than the favours. Everyone took their favours except for maybe 5 people, but nobody said anything about them, whereas several people came to tell me they loved the snack.

I have seen pizza and tacos. We had hotdogs. One of my friends, her daughter is going to have a crepe bar.

I'd go with the late night snack. My SIL had pizza during the last hour and I don't think I've ever been happier to see food in my life!

Oh forgot to mention the food. We offered what is called a "Manitoba social platter" here, which is ham, kielbasa sausage, cheese cubes (not slices for some reason, lol), bread rolls, mayo and mustard, and pickles. We also had a veggie tray, a cheese platter, fruit jello (jello salad?), a fruit tray, and they served slices of the cakes from the dessert buffet we had earlier.

The McDonald's idea is awesome. Quintessential late night snack right there.
