Las Vegas Buffet Reception

Danielle, on June 14, 2017 at 12:42 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 14

My fiance and I decided to have our wedding reception at the Cravings Buffet at The Mirage in Las Vegas - The Mirage is also where our ceremony is. We are having a tough time deciding if we should pay for everyone's buffet or just immediate family and the bridal party? I feel that they are giving us a good deal and that it would be rude not to pay for everyone who is attending the ceremony but my fiance thinks we should invite everyone but make everyone outside of the immediate family / bridal party circle pay for their own? Has anyone done this before or have any suggestions?

You pay for who you invite, AKA you pay for everyone.

Pay for everyone, I would be offended if I went to a wedding and had to pay for my own food.

You need to pay for everyone. This is no different than inviting them to a regular reception.

If you had a reception at a regular venue with a buffet, would you ask people to pay for their own dinner?

eta: words are hard today. Also, my friend did this at the Rio buffet, and she paid for everyone. The Rio also put tables together for us, with tablecloths and flowers on it. It was really nice!

UHHH. You pay for every single person you invite.

If you can't afford to feed them - don't invite them. That is rude for them to pay to travel all that way and then have to pay for a meal.

The buffet at the Mirage is pretty cheap compared to other Vegas restaurants. I think like everyone else if you invite them you have to feed them and provide beverages. I can't remember if in the buffet they allow alcohol though.

Have you ever been invited to a wedding where some guests were provided with a meal and the rest of you had to order in and pay for your own?

    Your FI is being absurd.

Definitely pay for everyone, remember it's you that is hosting the day. PP's are right, it's all inclusive, including alcohol, and $32 pp.

Umm wow. OP, when was the last time you were invited to a wedding reception and were handed a bill for your meal? How incredibly rude. I can't believe your FH thinks that is acceptable.

Of course you pay for everyone invited.

While figuring out your budget, remember that Cravings adds a gratuity automatically for groups > 8 people. I think it's around 20%.
