Lantern Centerpieces - Post your photos!

I don't think I want to do flowers at my venue - but I love the lantern look! I'm going to let my guests take them home (so I may use flameless candles to avoid mess - or is that tacky)? Please post your photos if you've used them, or your inspiration photos! Anyone get a good deal on them...

Yes to ikea. They have ones starting at $4. They are about 7" tall. They also have larger ones. I have noticed a lot of stores have clearanced out a lot of the patio/outdoor decor, so that could be another way. Also for the candles you will need to talk to your venue and see what their policy is first.

This is my practice lantern I semi-made (I added the green leaf and crystal embellishment at the top) a few months ago, but decided to keep it for my house, and not do lanterns for my wedding. It is costly for me because I would need 10 and in addition some other things to put with it, because I'm not sure just the lantern itself on the table would be enough! I'm so torn on the whole centerpiece thing. I do love them though when they are done right.

By the way ... I forgot to add that fake LED candles aren't tacky nowadays ... in fact, our venue only allows those types of candles, no real flames (it is in a historical estate mansion and they have all these rules, well, mostly rules pertaining to fire hazards which is completely understandable). BUt yeah ... fake is the new norm I think. Some of the led candles are of excellent quality. I've seen cheap looking ones and I've seen very exquisite fake flames. Got to look around and price them out and pounce on the deals and sales when you see them. Of course, the exquisite looking fake flames are more money. Of course.

I am interested to see what everyone's doing with their lanterns. I have been thinking about using lanterns for mine as well, but am having a hard time figuring out what I want to do with them!

I think the idea of your guests taking them home is so sweet! You should take a look at my website. I have tea light lantern holders that are super cute! www.leeleebella.com and using Coupon Code: "wedwire" will take 15% off. Smiley smile
