Lake Michigan venues?

Help! We have been planning our 7/1/20 wedding for about 6 months. We were totally set on Illinois Beach Resort north of Chicago (an hour from where we live) because we want a beach on the lake for the ceremony, loved the outdoor patio and lawn area for the cocktail hour, and inside ballroom overlooking the lake for the reception. It also has a hotel attached, which is very important since more than 2/3 of our guests are coming from around the country. Unfortunately, they have had a huge turnover of staff this year, and although they previously had very high ratings across the board through 2018, have now dropped to one star reviews. Our experiences with trying to contact them with questions do decide on our package options as well as our visits there since the summer have not impressed us to say the least. I can't book with them when I have no confidence and all the reviews from weddings held this year have been nightmares. They are on their 4th(?) wedding coordinator in a year. So I'm devastated and back to square one. I've tried to look up Lake Michigan venues as far north as Racine, and south down to Chicago. We don't want to have it downtown Chicago with the city as a backdrop, although we do want to take everyone downtown for Fourth of July festivities that weekend. (We're not going on a honeymoon). I'm afraid IL Beach Resort was a unicorn. Are there other venues that fit what we're looking for?
