Ugh I'm so sorry, that truly sucks.

I got laid off from my previous job 10 months into my engagement and freaked the fuck out. Luckily something else came my way pretty quickly, I'm hoping the same for you!

Pick up some odd jobs until a steady gig comes along.

If he has a license try doing uber! Seriously you can make 20-30 dollars an hour on your time! Best of luck!

Oh I went through this myself.... I lost my job like 3 months before my wedding. Luckily everything was paid for but had to hold off on a honeymoon which is totally fine. I'm happy that I was able to get married

So sorry to hear that! Stay strong and be optimistic. Hopefully he can find something soon, and if not I hope you all can figure something out. Everything will work out, just keep an open mind.

@Brittany- if he has done data entry then he should definitely look in to signing up with staffing firms in your area and see if he can land a temporary or temp-to perm job. He needs to make sure he lets the staffing firm know of the time he will need off for the wedding. I have used Robert Half before and I know they have locations everywhere, so that is one place he can look.

I would check to see if your county offers job placement services. I live in California and work for our county's America's Job Center. It's a great resource that alot of people don't utilize. We have more job positions and grant money then people so we have trouble placing. A year of data entry is still alot. His customer service from retail will also be an asset. He should highlight experiance training other staff members, and special projects he did.

Also if you he is looking to expand his training, alot of centers have free training programs for people recently laid off for no cost due to grants

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. I haven't gone through all the comments but I would suggest a temp/ staffing agency.
