Ladies with fuller bust, what are you doing for alterations? (Pic attached)

I went in for alterations today and I was super excited to see my dress. I cam in with my strapless minimizer bra and tried it on with my dress. I loved that my bobs weren't spilling out, but once the bridal consultant automatically told me I needed a long lined bra. I said okay, she went and the back and got me one. I tried it with the dress and I felt extremely uncomfortable. There were too much cleavage. The bridal consultant and seamstress kept saying "you've been blessed in the front, don't be ashamed!" I'm a 36D but no one would ever know that because of the kind of bras I wear. I like wearing minimizers because it makes my boobs look smaller.

I felt pressured and bought the long lined bra. My coworker who was with me told me she can tell I was uncomfortable in the dress. Once I got home I called Bridal Reflections to tell them I didn't want the seamstress to sew in the bra. I'm going in on May 3rd to try on a different bra.

I hear you. I specifically ordered my dress in a different neckline, with the sweetheart I tried on it was almost appalling how much was showing haha. I am pairing mine with a long line and I still feel like I show a ton of cleavage from my perspective, but photos look good.

I'm a 36D as well, but I don't feel like mine look as big. I'm planning on wearing a regular strapless bra with my strapless gown. But i'm not close enough yet to be doing fittings.

I'm definitely going to look into some of these options though, i want to be as comfortable as possible on the big day.

    Good luck! Smiley smile

I'm a 36 DD and my dress is corseted. I have decided to go braless because it was comfortable for me. I tried a long lined bra and it was very uncomfortable for me as well.

Here's the bra! It's a corset bra with no padding. I will bring it with me on the next visit. I pray it will work with my dress.

The bra is from Amazon. I think I paid 50$ for it. It's from goddess classics.

I can't help but think that THAT particular long line isn't the right one. I think that maybe something with a bit more structure in the material may have been better. The one I got at DB is a long line, but it isn't a push up. It just gives some support and doesn't separate the girls quite so much. Although I am a 38 DD, my long line is a 40C. per the measurements for that specific bra. Rather than buying online and relying on it, a visit to an actual bra shop (not Victoria's, but specialty boutique or bridal shop) would help. Below is a picture of the one I bought after being measured and fitted at the shop. As you can see, it is a completely different size than what I buy at VS. It really helps support, but contain the girls.

@Under the June willows the bra you posted is very similar to what I had on with my dress. It gave me no support and it just made my boobs look extralegal big.

The bra I purchased from Amazon makes me feel secure. I'm going to see how it looks with the dress on my second fitting.

I have a question, can I wear a regular strapless bra with my wedding dress? I have a bra that I tried with the dress that made my boobs look extremely small. When I tried it on with the dress, the consultant said the seamstress doesn't recommend it.

DDD here. I've not gotten that far but think about yourself first. It's your day and it you're not comfortable with it, you will be trying to pull the dress up or cover up or feeling uncomfortable all day and not them. I say don't go with that bra. Once as a bridesmaid, i just tucked my regular bra straps and pinned them because my strapless was uncomfortable.

You can of course wear a strapless. Did you ask why the seamstress didn't recommend it? She may have been concerned about the strap rolling or slipping under the weight of the dress after a few hours. Take ALL your bras back in with you next time and ask why the bra you like won't work. If it is a weight and structure issue, she might be able to do something with it to help it work...maybe even sew it into your dress.

Of course the store seamstress doesn't recommend that you wear your own strapless bra... especially if they sell them, they want to sell you a bra!

    I'm wearing a Wacoal strapless bra that I bought at Macy's. I'm a 40DDD.

I'm suprised the sales associate didn't try to have you custom order with more coverage. That is what I did.

38DD, my dress also has boning and is a corset. My issue was the dress hung too far from my chest, FMIL who is a seamstress took bathing suit elastic and made a drawstring type configuration and now it fits like a glove. In the photo all I have on is the dress.

I can't wait until May 3rd. I've been extremely anxious after my first visit. I'm so upset I didn't speak up. I will bring all of my bras with me and wear the one that best fits! I want to be able to dance and not look like a fool pulling up my dress all night.
