Among other things, my mother passed down the trait of having long, skinny fingers, but big, bulky knuckles. My knuckle is about a half-size (ring-size) bigger than my actual finger, so getting my rings over my knuckle takes an act of congress, but then they swing once they are on my finger since it's so skinny. Does anyone else have this problem? What have you done?

I currently have a metal ring guard on my ring, so I can make it tighter once it's over my knuckle, but it just looks so cheap to me. Any suggestions?

I tried ring guard and it was bothersome. I rather have the ring turn than deal with that guard lol.

I have chunky knuckles and thickish fingers. I wish I had your problems. I had to get my ring sized up to a 6.75 or else I 'd have a sausage link thing going on. I think I was built for hard labour. Smiley sad

My knuckle is an 8 and my finger is 5.5, I broke my finger when I was younger. My fiancé suggested wearing my ring on the right hand, or getting one of those rubber bands, but its my ENGAGEMENT RING!!! I want to wear it all the time and have it fit! So we got one of the Cliq rings and I LOVE IT!!! It fits the 5.5 part of my finger and never moves. http://www.cliqjewelry.com/

I am late to this discussion but I am the same way. My long fingers are a 4.5 but my knuckles are a 5. My office is reallly cold so I had sized down fearing my ring would fly off since it was so loose but I can never get it out while I'm in my normal temperature house because it won't fit over my knuckle. One morning, my ring wouldn't fit at all on over my knuckle. I was almost devastated. Might look into the ring beads.
