I'm asking for a friend. Just kidding...I'm asking for myself. I've had mirena for about 4.5 years now and I absolutely love it! No issues whatsoever! It's absolutely stress free bc for me. My period is 5 days late and I am freaking out. I know I need to take a test to rule out the possibility but...

Just checking to see if there are similar stories on here with anyone on it etc?

Edit: spelling...damn iPhone

No need to explain yourself. Some folks here are catty just "because". Just ignore them. It's an open forum, you can ask why the sky is blue for all most of us care, and we'd still help you out in the best way possible.

If you don't mind sharing, what did the pregnancy test say? Good luck!

@Mrs. Mason - the test was negative. So made appt with my doctor to see what's up and possibly just remove it and get a new one put it but we will see what she recommends.

Nothing is 100% fool proof. I did have a scare last year. I had my mirena in there for about 4 years and then one month I didn't get my period. I was sooo not ready for a kid (wasn't engaged yet or living with DH). I went to the doctor and she said sometimes you skip a period, no big deal. It has happened one other time. But no baby so yay!

Mrs. V V - yeah definitely don't want a kid before the wedding right now. Planning a wedding is stressful enough (at times) can't imagine being pregnant. Definitely after wedding though! I'm hoping it's just that --- I am skipping a period :-).
