Kohls vs. Target

Sarah195, on April 25, 2015 at 9:33 AM Posted in Planning 0 25

For our registry we are definitely going to register at Bed Bath and Beyond, but then we are debating between Kohl's and Target. FH wants to register at Bass Pro Shop but that's a whole other story. So between Kohl's and Target which do you think works better for a wedding registry? I do like how Kohl's always has stuff on sale so my guests could get a good deal.

I say Kohls. i love kohls and i think they have more of a focus on the home items that target does.

There was a thread on here a few weeks ago about Kohls registry and their return policy. A lot of really bad stories came out. Try searching that and read up before you make a decision. I personally love target and would always choose them over kohls.

The Kohls where I live aren't very nice. So I'd pick Target because they're much nicer than the Kohls here.

Personally, I have gotten over the whole Target data breach thing just yet....so I wouldn't choose Target for that reason.

I would say to go with Target. Although I love Kohl's, if things aren't on sale, then they can be REALLY expensive there. If guests went on the wrong day of the week, they might end up paying a lot more for something. Generally, Target has very consistent prices and aren't constantly taking things on and off sale, so the prices aren't going to waver like crazy like at Kohl's. Also, I think Target has a great variety of house things to get at various price points. And I may be wrong, but I think there are a lot more Target stores, so guests might have an easier locating one. Smiley smile

Out of those two I would go with target. Even though kohls have a lot of sales there starting price is beyond stupid lol. Also for home stuff I really don't see kohls offering more. This could also be that I am in Minnesota so we have almost nothing but the super targets.

I'd go with Target. Kohls is over priced, and if items aren't on sale, they're often double (or more) than they should be. ETA: Target also has TONS of home goods on their website, that you can easily add. Lots of things not available in the store.

Maybe i like kohls because they arent really up where i live. I remember Kohls saving my FH butt when he forgot to pack his suit for an out of state wedding. ran to both target and kohls and kohls was the only one with suits and shoes.

It is true that Kohl's starting pricing are insane. I will definitely have to check out their return policy! I think around me and my guests there are lots of targets and lots of Kohl's. I guess I'll just have to check out both and see which one has more items we would want to register for!

I've run into problems with Kohls items being "out of stock" and never back in stock (for example I've been trying to get my friend the crock pot she registered for- it's been out of stock since January so I just bought it on amazon). I also think target has more unique items like electronics (we registered for a Bluetooth speaker) and outdoorsy items (tents, coolers, etc) that I don't associate with kohls having

Target... They were easier to work with (I attempted both) AND sent me a $20 gift card for registering there

I vote for Target too. We are registered there and are really happy with it (also at BB&B too). Plus there isn't a Kohl's near where I live, and most people I know shop at Target.

We're going with target because FH wants to add some stuff like a camera lens and Playstation at the last minute so he can get a discount. That's basically why we went with them... for the discount on stuff we want to buy ourselves haha

Target. Lots of people here have complained about Kohl's return policy, especially. Target was so easy to return stuff. I hate Kohl's anyway, so we didn't consider it at all, but I've seen lots of complaints.

We decided on Target because most of our guests shop there anyway and most have a credit card with them. This way, they'll make a purchase and get points towards their card.

Target, I haven't darkened the doorway of a Kohls since I was a kid.
