Nay, on September 25, 2013 at 11:38 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 13

Just received an email from Kleinfeld regarding a Sample Sale $699 Gowns for one day only 10/8 from 3:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. May be worth looking into if you're still looking for your gown Smiley smile

Sample Sales scare the crap out of me. There's nothing more life threatening than a bride looking for a deal.

Yes, you can score a killer gown at a great discount IF you're up to the challenge. There are LOTS of women planning to attend this event, so here's some hints for a successful search taken from Martha Stewart's Wedding Blog (entitled, "Behind the Scenes at Kleinfeld's Sample Sale"):

"Jewels of wisdom for any sample sale:

    1. Wear comfy undergarments and a strapless bra. You don't know who you'll be sharing a dressing room with!

    2. Be ready to buy. You won't have a ton of time to hem-and-haw over a gown—some girl might snap it out of your hands.

    3. Bring only one companion with you. It gets tight in a crowd. A smaller entourage means you can move more quickly.

    4. Cash or credit cards rule. Leave your checkbooks at home."

LOL OTW. I've seen SYTTD when they have had their sample sales and it is indeed interesting.

    Centerpiece Those are great tips.

Up to the challenge, and if your of sample-size size, sure. I remember the Filene's Basement gown sales. Lots of pushing, shoving, grabbing, and someone getting knocked to the ground.

I wouldn't go near that for any money in the world.

I've seen the Kleinfield sample dress sales too and what they do that is different I think from Fileen's Basement is they assign numbers and they only let a certain amount in at a time. I think Fileene's used to be like a free for all.

    Wait, what Friends episode?

I've always wanted to go to a sample sale, but I don't really want to feel pressured to spend a $1,000 ... even if it's a sample gown that's been marked 75% off.
