Kleinfeld blow out sale??

Rosie, on April 19, 2010 at 2:23 PM Posted in Planning 0 9

Kleinfeld's is having a blow out sale next Tuesday. Have any of you ever been to one? I THINK I remember an episode of Say Yes To The Dress during one of these sales...a bride was trying to stuff a dress in her purse or something. They said their dresses are discounted as much as 70%. I'm wondering if any of you can speak from experience on whether this might be worth it or if it will make me want to jump out a window.

Personally, I would rather pay full price for a dress then be stuck in a store full of crazy women...

I don't think it'd be worth the mayhem... but I'm not really into spending a lot on my dress (whether or not it's 70% off)

Just another thing to consider is those dresses are sold as is. I could be wrong but i'm pretty sure that they do not offer alterations for any of the dresses. You pick, you pay, you walk away...Someone correct me if i'm wrong though.

As much as I love the show - I don't think I could ever step foot into one of their trunk shows. I really appreciated my time at a boutique shop, with one on one time with the owner!

It seems to be busy and a little hectic, but not crazy...you can only take 3 dresses into a room at a time, but you can switch those out and try on as many as you want. dresses are sold as is. THough, Im sure you could make an appt to go back to Kleinfelds for alterations. it seems like great discounts and good prices, but I dont know for sure.

I personally like the one on one attention you recieve when you go out dress shopping. This allows you to truly get the full feel of wedding dress shopping and gives you the chance decide on "the dress"! I think that it givs you more of a chance to make a decision versus buying a dress because it is 70% off.

Most people find the dress they love, try it on, and figure out what fits best on them. and then they go to these blow-outs and trunk shows and all that, and find the dress. So most already know what their looking for. I've seen some get pretty out of hand (Love that episode of FRIENDS) but others are by appointment.

I think if you know exactly what you're looking for, size, style, everything. It would be kinda fun. and buying your dream dress at a discount would be amazing!

Not sure about alterations, but don't you usually pay for that anyway? So if they won't (not sure why) but you could maybe find another place that can do them, if need be.
