Kissing Ball, What is it

Mrs. Fornasty, on August 9, 2011 at 9:54 AM Posted in Planning 0 4

Ok, I see post for kissing balls all the time. I know that they are for the flower girl. My flower girl is having a basket with petals. Is the kissing ball for after the ceremony so she has flowers, or i dunno... Help

A kissing ball is the same as a pomander. It is a (usually) styrofoam ball covered in real or silk flowers, with a ribbon loop at the top to carry it with. Brides sometimes have their FGs carry one instead of a basket with petals when their venue doesn't allow petals to be tossed.

Ahh, I thought it was something that you give the flowergirl after the ceremony, because she would be done with throwing the petals

That would still be really cute!

I have 6 little girls involved in my ceremony (FG, Train bearers and special memorial plant presenters). I want to have them all have kissing balls because they can carry them while they carry a basket, my train or a plant. And they will look super cute in the pictures.
