Kind of a rant- Help me! My mom requested my bachelorette party weekend off..

My bachelorette party weekend is supposed to be crazy. We're going all out. That isn't something I can see myself doing with my mom.. I love her and love to have her around but it's just not a mom weekend. She text me today and said she requested the weekend off, my family doesn't really do that.....

Except for obvious exceptions like wedding and funerals work comes first. That's just how we were raised. With that the way it is I can't just be like "um mom I don't want you to come" because she chose my party over her job that she loves! Maybe I'm overreacting, I dunno. I don't really want to party with my mom (she doesn't even drink..) but I don't want to hurt her feelings.

Haha i had this conversation with my friend the other day, my mom wants to come to mine. my bachelorette will probably be more like a girls weekend so i actually have realized that i dont have an issue with her coming.

Who is planning the bachlorette? Can't they tell her it might not be appropriate?

Can your sister talk to your mom about it?

My mom is pissed that I said she wont be there. Its not that shes not fun or conservative, but she makes it a point to tell me how "annoying" i am when im drunk. She showed up unannounced to FH and Is new years party at 1am and did the same thing when I was drunk at my own house. I dont need to be worried about my mom being all weird and judgy seeing her 27 year old being drunk with friends.

I bet she is going so she can watch over you girls, and make sure you come home safe.

My mom was the same way. And I'm like you... really don't want my mother around me when I'm going to be drinking hah. I was just honest with her and said, "this is a time for just my girls. If you want, we could do a mother-daughter weekend soon, but this is just me and them." She was a bit hurt but after a couple days she said she understood where I was coming from.

Hope it all works out for you! Honestly is the best thing you could do!

My mom is coming to my batch party but I also invited her. I would say go with it you might be surprised how much your mom might need this as much as you do Smiley smile

If it had been an option, I wanted to invite my mom and fmil to join us for dinner or something, but it wasn't for us. Maybe you can say she can do that?

I only went to my dinner when my DDs' were having their bachelor parties. NO WAY did I want to be the bar crawling. Have you told your mom that penis toys might be involved? Sometimes shock value works wonders on us moms.
