Kids in the wedding

Tiffany, on May 14, 2019 at 5:25 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 9

My wedding isnt for another 17 months (October 2020) but I'm just playing around with thoughts and ideas. I have two kids, by the time of the wedding my son will by 17 and my daughter will be 7. He has two kids, his son will be 14 and his daughter will be 11. I was thinking of having my son walk me down the aisle with my dad, his son be a junior groomsman, my daughter be flower girl and his daughter be a junior bridesmaid.

What are some other options for my 17 year old? I'd love to hear ideas of where to place each of them also.

He could be a groomsman if your FH wants to have him stand on his side, you can always have him stand as a bridesman.

You can have him be with you or FH at the altar, walk you down the aisle or maybe do a reading if you have that in your ceremony. Also, your kids are old enough to maybe get their input on what role they would like to play in the day.

I definitely plan on asking all of them but I wanted to have a few ideas to give them when I do. I thought about having my son be a junior groomsman too but then that'll uneven the bridal party and I'm kinda ocd about numbers lol.

He can be a groomsmen as well. Your FH son can walk down with your flower girl as the ring bearer . I know its cute seeing young kids walk down but if its your own children i dont see why not.

Well, we were thinking of having his nephews who will be 5 and 2 by then be ring bearers. With them being older I kind of wanted them to have a role that wont make them feel so much like kids. You know how teens are...

Ahh I see. In that case, I would definitely have him be one of the groomsmen.

A groomsman would be good if there is room. If not Possibly an usher

Our son will be 14 and is the Westman. Our oldest daughter will be 20 she is my maid of honor and singing. Our will be 11 yr old daughter is a Jr bridesmaid and reading a scripture. Our will be 8 yr old daughter is the ring bearer and our will be 3 yr old daughter is the flower girl. We are not having anyone else in our wedding party.

I think he should definitely be an important part. A groomsman for sure.

I think that is a great idea for your son to walk you down the isle along with your dad.
