Kids Free Wedding

So we decided on a kids free wedding and am not looking for opinions on if you agree with this or not. I'm wondering, for people who did kid free, did you have a certain cut off age or was it anyone under 17-18? We arent having a flower girl or ring bearer so truly wont be any kids.

We're literally doing 18+. Our only exceptions are our flower girls and one bridesmaid who is 17. We addressed our invitations very specifically, naming the people invited. We put little inserts in with the invitations that said "We love your kids, but thought you'd enjoy the night off. Children of immediate family only please." And we're doing our RSVPs online so the guest list is pre-built and it won't allow for people to change or add their guests. And it's literally all over our website that it's an adults-only event. Oh, and we've made our coordinators aware so that they can address this with any violators.

    Ya girl isn't playin.

My son & son to be DIL are doing no kids under 17. I do get it, but he excluded his niece & nephews who have grown up with him and did not use his brothers either. ( we are a close family) we thought. But are using her 2nd cousin as flowergirl and one of the bridesmaids sons. Which lets the small child closest on her side to attend while excluding the nieces & nephews. ( I didn’t expect them to use all but maybe they youngest nephew whom they have claimed as their own since birth , now 4) It puts me in a bad spot cause brothers are upset as am I. My understanding is kids typically leave after the ceremony if there is to be a big shindig rehearsal. Sons soon to be MIL put her foot down No children, stating venue unsafe, but when I offered $ to help with first venue they liked was told it would t matter still no Kids. Anyone else dealing with this?
