Kids at bridal shower?

I wasn't really expecting this, but I have had 2 friends ask if they can bring kids to my shower. I'm not bringing my own, and have never been to a bridal shower with kids. I would honestly prefer to have adults only and a teenage cousin. How do I say this without coming off like a bish? Is this...

I would honestly prefer to have adults only and a teenage cousin. How do I say this without coming off like a bish? Is this unreasonable?

This surprised me and I'm kind of confused about what to do.

I think it definitely dpeends on how well-behaved the kids are. I can think of some 3 and 9 year old I definitely WOULDN'T want there, but I can think of others that wouldn't bother me at all.

Actually I went to some Bridal Showers when I was that age (9) but I was also a very relaxed kid.

I hosted my friends bridal shower and we only included the children names on the invites who were in the wedding (nieces etc) but when I was getting RSVP I was getting well I can't come if my kids can't come and well I hear so and so was invited my daughter/son is the same age so I think its fair I can bring my child. I understand that sometimes its hard to get a sitter but - if you don't want children then the hostess should politely tell them sorry no children are allowed to be in attendance. I did but some still brought their sticky fingers icing licking children! Smiley smile

She handled it and so far one of them responded with, "No problem, I'll have my mom watch him," and the other hasn't responded. I don't have anything against kids or anything, in fact, my FH and I have 2 and another on the way. Because I'm pregnant, I won't be having a bach party so I've been looking forward to the shower as some fun time with my lady friends and family, kid free.
