Kids Activities for Reception

A, on June 17, 2018 at 11:41 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 8
So if you had kids at your wedding, what was the most popular activity you had for them at the reception? I have coloring books of all kinds, lots of bubbles, cornhole game.... and that’s about it. I will have maybe 20 kids attending ranging from 1 to 12, so I definitely need a little more to stock the kids area with. Thinking maybe a few silly games like twister. And a pack or two of playing cards. I imagine some will like the dancing, but I need something fun for the ones who don’t.

I'm not sure what your venue/time of year is but we had a couple of frisbees that got lumped into our decor, the older kids found them and loved throwing it (outside).

All of your ideas sound great! Maybe add tic-tac-toe sheets?

In our family if they are age 1 or under, they almost don't ever get their feet to touch the ground, they pass babies around like crazy LOL FH's family is the same way...toddlers we keep a better eye on and let them roam and dance...I would say most parents will have enough on hand to keep their kid entertained if needed, phones/tablets/favorite toys/snacks etc...theyre used to outings with the kids.
Beyond that, every wedding I have been to with kids the things they had that kids loved the most were: dancing like wild on the dance floor, photobooth and Smores bar Smiley smile

FH and I scored mini jenga at dollar tree last night! We're going to put one at every table for the grownups too! We're also going to have corn hole, tic-tac-toe ring toss and washers.

We bought a 20 pack of individual crayola crayon boxes (4 colors in each box) and bought activity pages off of Etsy to print. We will have them all on a small table with a sign that says activities for the kids.

A puzzle might be fun, or a board game! Another option would be to go to Walmart and see if they have any cheap toys on sale.

My plan so far is to hit the dollar store and see what I can find there, and create a "kids' table" with snacks and toys. My venue is near a park, so hopefully if thst's not enough, their parents can take them to the playground to run some of the boredom off.

I am thinking of having some kids' activities if we wind up having a lot of people bringing children. I googled "wedding theme coloring pages" and came up with lots of free coloring, word search, tic tac toe, etc to print and make little activity booklets. I might do this if it looks like we will have a lot of kids there.
