Key Largo

Hello ladies! I am soon to be married (a year from now) and we are wanting to go somewhere tropical. We have seen good things about Key Largo but I want to know more. If someone has been please let me know what your experience was!

We were just in the Key's last week and it's beautiful! We walked Duvall street, hit up Hemingway's Bar and had dinner and drinks at the original Pan Am headquarters. Weather is very nice this time of year and while there were many people there, I wouldn't consider it crowded compared to what it used to be like. If you are looking for a good resort option, check out Parrot Key, it's a villa style resort which has bikes for rental and water sports available. The villa's are beautiful and have cute little decks, there is also a mini kitchen with a microwave, sink, fridge and coffee maker. You couldn't cook out of it but you can certainly keep things in your room for breakfast, snacks or breakfast options.

Our venue is Bakers Cay Key Largo and we are IN LOVE. We are in Florida and this is a bit of a home away from home for us. We love ALL the Keys, but Largo is close enough to Miami for the airport without a long drive but 100% that island feel.

Key largo is beautiful but a bit too touristy for my taste. It can sometimes be tacky. The lower in the keys you go the less touristy it is until you hit Key West (then it’s touristy again lol). I’d pick a lower key if I were you but either way it will be beautiful! I lived in Miami and spent manyyyy weekends in the keys.
