Keeping Track of Expenses?

Marissa, on July 14, 2019 at 3:25 PM Posted in Planning 0 15

What do you ladies use to keep track of your expenses (completed and ongoing)? I have a sort of chart on Google docs where I keep detailed track of things, but I was wondering if there's something better. (I don't care for WW's budget tool)

Google sheets.. We did all of our wedding stuff in Google drive. Easy to share with one another and collaborate that way.

I dont care for theirs as well. I actually use the old fashioned notebook and pen option. I feel better calculating it myself and writing everything down.

I have all receipts, have a book I’m writing down the main costs. But my credit card debt rn tells me exactly where we are! Sigh 😕😓

Organization is one of my strong suits, and I almost obsess over it. Excel is probably my favorite tool to use for planning! I have tabs that breakdown budget, guest list, to-do list, day of timeline, notes, etc.

In my computer I have folder for wedding stuff; in that folder are sub-folders for each vendor. I saved all the details/information packets that I have filled out or need to fill out. I also keep a digital copy of all invoices/receipts/proposals in these folders.

I also have in my email inbox a wedding folder with sub-folders for each vendor. I keep all our correspondence in this folders.

Lastly, I have a binder that I keep hard copies of original contracts and up-to-date copies of the details/information packets. I only update those if something major changes.

I know this is more than what you asked for, but it has really helped me stay organized.

I have an itemized excel spreadsheet. It’s the same thing I use for my personal budget and business accounts. Easy and I can customize it as much as I want.

I’m using google spreadsheets for pretty much everything as well! I have my budget broken down, as well as a spending tracker, guest list and info, vendor info, and pretty much everything else I could possibly be keeping track of.
I keep track of all my receipts and invoices as well, the spreadsheets really help me stay organized

I thought I was the only one who did all of this down to the subfolders in my email. It has helped me stay on track of when payments are due and it helps me find email correspondence quicker.

It helps! We are in the early stages of planning so I wanted to make sure we were organized from the start! No questions as to what’s what or where anything is.

Would anyone be willing to share their google sheets or excel sheets? I’ve set up a Google Sheet but I feel like I’m missing things or forgetting to calculate for something!

I just use an excel spreadsheet. I have all the vendors on a separate tab and have what the deposit was and what we owe still. The venue I have everything broken down by pp price and the other expenses for the venue itself. I keep the contracts in a certain desk drawer as well for easy reference.
