How can I go about keeping a table of (ice cream) desserts/ cakes cool for a long period of time?

Do you have a vendor running/providing the ice cream table? It'll be difficult to handle that without a third party providing some type of cooler or fridge nearby.

If they are individually wrapped, fill a big tub or barrel with ice and try to place treats sticks up.

You have to keep it in some sort of cooler or freezer.

    Thanks, ladies...

For now, this is just ideas... And most likely will be made by me (i know I know, why am I cooking for my own wedding.. Lol.. I want too and also, to stay within our budget)

I don't eat cake unless its ice cream or cheesecake (I'm more of a pie person/dry pastry person)... My husband on the other hand does... So we've decided on an ice cream cake and debating on whether it should be a cake, cupcakes, cake pops, or sandwiches... We are leaning towards the sandwiches... Like the pic above... The only problem is how will we keep them cool... Someone had mentioned using dry ice, but unable to explain how.

I think it would help people to give you advice if we know the quantity you're looking at...is this for 10 people? 50? 200?

If this is a small wedding like K said, I would suggest doing pies and having ice cream on the side. A scoop of vanilla ice cream with pie can be super yummy and that way you can keep a big tub in a cooler with ice or freezer until it's time to bring out. Is there not a kitchen with a freezer at your venue?

I'm in NJ! It was definitely cold enough here this morning for snow! But it was 80 here this past weekend! Like what gives, Mother Nature?! Smiley cry

4.19.19! I can't believe we're under a year now! Everyone keeps telling me the year mark is when time starts to go by very quickly. I can definitely see it. I really started planning in January and things that I've planned for since then (engagement pics and dress shopping in May) are almost upon me now!

Yes.. The reception will be held in a penthouse..

I just would like it to stay out for a long period of time.. Like how ive seen many gorgouse dessert bars.. And melt in mouths not on the table..

With such a small group I think they'll be eaten right away. I wouldn't over complicate it by trying to leave them out a long time. There's no value in that.

I understand you want it to sit out for the aesthetic but its just not possible with ice cream desserts. Those need to be kept in a freezer until right before serving.

If you are looking to do a displayed dessert table you would be better off doing pies like Spaghetti said and then serving ice cream on the side.

Just fingers foods, calzones and pizza

Because we are unable to afford our dream beach wedding at the moment, instead of waiting we are getting hitched at city hall, and having an intimate celebration with immideate family and friends.. So (inguess u would say) this will not be a real reception.. So we arent doing anything fancy.. Just a fun alternative style with a touch of romance

You gotta realize that Pinterest is a bunch of staged photos. Do what you think your guests would like and don't get wrapped in trying to stage an aesthetically pleasing table. There's 6 bars on that plate, that either got eaten immediately or were just pulled out of the freezer. There's no magical answer for keeping ice cream cold on a table for hours - pull them out when you're ready for dessert or find an alternative.

OMG.. Tell me about.. I've been planning since last yr.. Unfortunately, the wedding was supposed to be this past March, but life always has other plans.. So technically I didn't get focus until around December... I feel like there isn't enough time in the day to just think about what I want.. Lol.. and I'm not even having anything big... Why is this so difficult 😫.. It took me forever to find the perfect dress, and now I can barely find the right shoes to match or a MUA I can trust not to have me looking like a completely different person or a clown 😂
But one thing is for certain.. We picked the best day to get married 😉
