Just start laughing...

Laura, on July 14, 2020 at 6:02 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 25
So... I can't wear my poofy dress because alterations are too expensive and time consuming to make my wedding date. I bought 2 high low dresses because that was a style that I always loved; I could return either of them if I didn't like them. The first high like, a white one came with a broken zipper. The second one, in blush was too small. I decided to return both and wear my after party dress that I bought long before Covid - even though FH had seen it before.

I initiated the return of the white one then hoped to lose weight before June 2021 so the blush could be used for the after party.
The return was messed up and they sent a new dress with a zipper that works. And it fit perfectly - no alterations. Then for fun I tried on the blush and I'm within a half inch of it fitting. That means I

I'm thinking that I'm wearing one of the high low. I'm also doing a trash the dress shoot, so I might wear the other for that! Fortunately both high low together were under $250. So it's no big deal. I'm just shaking my head.

Which would you wear? I think my shape looks better in the high low and it's totally my vibe.

LOL with everything you’ve been through at least you’ve ended up with some amazing dresses! It puts my mind at ease that I am not alone in this...I almost ended up with a 4th dress. Luckily I was able to cancel the order for my elopement dress in time to cancel the shipment and get a refund. Now I have my original dress I am trying to sell, my Cocomelody dress which I am going to wear for our elopement, and I have another dress on order for our bigger celebration next year. Oh the craziness of it all.

Yeah, I only have one close friend who isn’t married yet.

My one friend burned her dress for an art project, but she is renewing her vows next year...depending on when we do this, she may have a new dress until then and can join in on the fun 😂. Maybe I’ll extend it to prom dresses or former Bridesmaids dresses.

I'm so glad that we're finding the fun in all this. It's been such a ride! We haven't announced or elopement date. I'm trying to thinkof ways to surprise people with it. Our wedding is on a Monday... And everyone is remote. Hmmmm.... Do you have ideas??

Prom and bridesmaiddress would make for some perfect photos!!

LOL right?! I couldn’t agree with you more...gotta find the fun and humor.

Our elopement is scheduled for a Friday...

It’s just our parents and I was going to send them a card or something...just not sure yet. I was thinking of including it with our change-the-date cards, but they’re already aware of the date, they just need details as far as time and location.

I'm sending mine flowers in our wedding colors. I'm not sure what the card with them will say yet. But could you do that?

My color is peach bellini. So we're thinking of sending this arrangement to our mom's. It's the card that I struggle with...

    We could simply write,
"with love, Mr. and Mrs. His name"

I think that would be pretty clear. Lol!!!

We did our elopement up in DC (on a Tuesday) because that is where DH is currently stationed while I am in NC. I texted friends who knew i was seeing him for the first time in three months that we went out to do pictures by the monuments and then sent them pictures of the day ending with one where I held a sign that said "Just Married". I could hear the squeals through the texts messages back when they slowly cottoned on to what we had done. Our immediate family was in on the secret.
