Just Needing to Vent

Not looking for pity, just need to get this out. This week has been hell to me. My wedding is Saturday. There's been a 90% chance of severe storms all week on the day of my wedding. I've already had 5 people message me telling me they can't come now. Our outdoor ceremony is going to have to be moved indoors. *sigh*

My photographer was like 20 minutes late to the meeting she set up. I hate, hate people who aren't on time. Now I'm thinking great, is she going to be on time for the amount of time I have paid her for?!

I wanted peach to white ombre nails. I went two places and neither could do a peach color. I'm not a pink person but my choices were limited unless I wanted blah nude or some crazy bright color. So, I settled for the light pink to white. I don't hate it, but I don't love it.

I went to order my cake/cupcakes from Sam's like I'd been planning. Budget friendly, plus they said they could customize about however I needed. Nope. They lied. They have a very specific list of frosting colors and won't make anything other than what they order (the listed colors). Fine. So, instead of my peach/ivory cupcakes like I had planned I have white. Fine. Not the end of the world, but white is so bright to me. I wanted a plain, three tiered semi naked cake. The manager didn't know what a semi naked cake was but told me they could probably do it. Nope, she left me a voicemail saying her decorator wouldn't do it. I got the idea off their reviews on this cake. Sigh. Fine, I'll scrape off the frosting myself.

I got a spray tan today. Told them I wanted a semi darker shade because it will fade. I can't even tell I got a tan. I'm hoping it will get darker, but I think it's done getting darker at this point.

Then, I messaged my hair artist to double check if she wanted us to have clean hair or day old hair. She proceeds to tell me the answer then goes on to explain how her son has a soccer game so she will have to leave early but can bring someone else from the salon (who I have never met or had a trial with). Artist will do my hair, flower girl and a bridesmaid in two hours (ha, yeah right). So, I inform her my flower girl will not be there that early and I most likely won't be there that early nor do I want my hair done 5 hours before my wedding (think like 80% humidity, rain!). My girls are supposed to be there at 10:15, to start on their hair/makeup at 10:30. I have to go pick up things before so I won't be there until later. She needs to leave by 12:30.

We had planned on staying at a hotel the night of the wedding so I booked for my dog to go be boarded the night before the wedding and the wedding night. Now FH is all "let's just go home to our bed and save the money for the honeymoon". He had a 50% code to use at almost any hotel around here so it'd be like $50 to stay somewhere "special", swim in the pool, eat a huge breakfast, etc.

FMIL has called FH like 10 times this week to double check on the times and double check how many will be at rehearsal. The information has been the same for about a month now. Every time she calls, he asks me in case something has changed. She's also invited a few random people from her church that neither of us even know to rehearsal and dinner..and to the wedding.

I am sure there is more, but ugh. I'm so ready for this wedding to be over.

I am in that space myself. Ravp date was sat and I reminded my stragglers to rsvp. Fh was supposed to and I don’t know if he did but it’s all his people like 50 left. I don’t know these people to contact but this evening was cut off to be marked no and they were supposed to be told as such. It’s online for crying out loud. Now fh tells me that his family has the right to come whether or not they rsvp. That’s 50 people to pay for and not know if they are coming. We have limited onsite lodging and needed head count for who needed beds and now I have no idea. Need numbers and deposit to caterer and have a huge gap of maybes.
I hate all of this and can’t wait for it to be over. So mad at fh for lack of follow up, he was so late for his list as it was and made our guest list enormous. And apparently full of people who have no regard or respect enough to ravp. OVER IT

From one bride to another, this is the perfect time to remember that you are marrying your husband -- that's the whole point. I get that all of these things together is a LOT to bear as a bride. I do this thing with my FMIL where all of her texts and calls go to silent.

My wedding was also this last Saturday and up until 3 days before the wedding it was 82 degrees and all a sudden a huge storm was coming in Saturday. I was so stressed because our ceremony and reception were both outdoors and the ceremony was on a creekside hill. I had to move the ceremony to a covered area and we had a heck of a time renting tents and heaters as the rest of our area Was booking them all up. I was freaking out and we were out until midnight the night before the wedding trying to put all these tents up and figure everything out. It did end up pouring through out the entire day and evening of the wedding. But it ended up being so beautiful with the rain and yes a few guests ended up not showing due to weather but everyone who was there had a great time I hope your wedding turned out great too!

Hey all - here is your update..
It poured rain from about 9am-2pm. POURED. I mean, it was coming down so hard and fast it was coming in the doors.
We got it all decorated in time.
My hair/makeup people both stayed long enough to do my hair/makeup (the kiddos game was cancelled so they didnt have to leave as early).
The groomsmen got my groom drunk so that was a bit of an issue for me. We didnt do a first dance, barely did a cake cutting, the pictures were a pain cause of the state he/they were in. They soon realized I was NOT happy with any of them. They were one of the first to leave.
About 75% of the people who RSVP'D actually showed up. Most left within two hours cause no dancing was going on and we let them eat while we took pictures.
We got several new gifts at the wedding.
We left on our honeymoon on Friday with a 3 hour delay at our home airport. Finally made it to our destination and are having fun..

Wow thanks for letting us know how it went. I'm banking on about 75 % showing as well. How was the honeymoon?

That was a great turn out! 75% isn’t bad especially considering the weather! I’m glad you were enjoying your honeymoon! It may not all have been perfect but at least something went well
