June Brides!

June 25th!! Excited but very stressed out! I feel like I had loads of time, and then all of a sudden it snuck up! We’ve got everything together and I know it will be perfect, but I can’t help but still worry!

I feel you there! mine is next Friday (june 11th) which is also my birthday LOL. Don't forget to take a break. I was so stressed last week that I cried for 1 hour haha. I think you must be doing an amazing job with your wedding!

I'm one week away. Excited and nervous!

My wedding is June 26th! We are getting married outside at a beautiful flower farm in Minnesota (Camrose Hill). I'm definitely nervous. Just hoping I have thought of everything! Putting together the wedding day timeline was the most stressful and I'm still not sure it's all in place! haha

And I need a VACATION. I am Sad that a lot of my family from out of the country can't make it..but I'm excited to get it DONE. I'm at the stage of putting final touches to plans..and I'm nervous slightly cuz I'm doing all the planning. But things are going to be good..I can feel it. Next year we'll travel to sierra Leone and do this party African style 😆

I have a planner but the planner in me is still doing things BUT the week of and day of.. I will try my best to be stress free. Your day will be BEAUTIFUL. I mean ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL. June 25 th here. I had trouble sleeping last night. Worried about not having control and things going wrong.

June 26th here!!!! Still have so much to do and I feel like every weekend I am up forever getting things all ready and dreaming about what could go wrong on our wedding day.

Christine, I am so sorry that you are having these feelings of the wedding not being "special" (which I hope you do believe it is very special, even if others aren't as excited). It's the 2nd time for both my fiance and I (he lost his wife in '16 and I divorced in '17) and we are both extremely excited. We are high school friends and both in our 50s. We reconnected during the early stages of the pandemic which made for a very interesting not to mention difficult start to our already complicated long-distance relationship!

I feel like if you celebrate the two of you, and your wonderful relationship and who you both are rather than focusing on what was lost you will still have an amazing wedding. Think of it as the celebration of your life rather than an event that has to look or be a certain way. I think that this virus, and the ensuing chaos and damage to everyone's schedule, life etc has hopefully taught us what is REALLY important. I know you are sad that other people will not be able to be in attendance but think of this as a way to have a wonderful, intimate ceremony with more connection.

I'm fumbling what I want to say but I hope it helps to look at the big picture rather than the minutiae. Just think - instead of a big, expensive event that will be stressful and that will maybe be so complicated that you can't enjoy it, or enjoy your guests, you get to relax and enjoy your spouse and the loved ones that have stuck it out to be there for it.

PS My fiance and I have opted for many reasons to have a small legal ceremony with just the two of us and an officiant. I don't think I will even do flowers and I probably will do my own hair. I bought a dress online that I will be able to wear again. We aren't even telling anyone until after we are married. Later we may have a small family ceremony and serve a meal. We are over the moon about all of it and can't wait to be husband and wife after everything we have both been through. It doesn't matter the size of the wedding, what matters is YOU and your marriage!

Hey there! Also getting married on June 25. We have chosen a microwedding/elopement with just us and our officiant, at a local park. I am sleeping like a dream because there is literally nothing that can go wrong unless one of us twists an ankle walking through the grass! And even if one of us does, we will just keep going and then head to the emergency room

I hope you can rest in the knowledge that what is most important is the two of you and your marriage - this is just the first step. Things will ALWAYS go wrong and you two will cope!
