June bride and an ah Ha! Idea...

Laura, on March 14, 2020 at 8:45 PM Posted in Planning 0 14

We have been delaying sending invites, even though our wedding is out of state because things are just a mess right now. However, we want preliminary numbers too and for people to plan accordingly. So tonight, I had an AH HA! moment. We're going to send invitations online. We are going to allow people to change their RSVP up through a certain date. So if anyone knee jerks (either way) about coming or not, they have time to amend their response later. There are sites that can track the invites, tell you who opened them, will auto resend them if they weren't opened, etc. It looks like a really good solution. But, before I go there ... Does anyone know of any drawbacks other than it's not traditional? We have those who can help the elderly family respond.

Thoughts?? I love that it's environmentally friendly and my invitation is lovely... So, it's not a tacky thing at all... Opinions welcome!

Evite.com is supposed to be free.
Greenenvelope is who I've been looking at because their inches are so pretty.

I think it’s a great idea! It makes a lot of sense to be flexible.

I have a coworker who keeps getting evites and she gets so mad! Her biggest gripe is they mainly send to her hubby who never shares with her the info (because he’s forgetful/doesn’t find it important) unlike actual mauled invites. I feel like every relationship has this person. If there’s a way to send to both, I highly recommend!

Basically what she explained is it seems they only send it to one email? So if it’s Mr and Mrs Smith, will Mr Smith AND Mrs Smiths individual emails receive the invite? Or will only one email addresss?

You can specify as many emails as you want on Greenenvelope. It might affect billing, but I just set up my parents and it lists them as Mr and Mrs with their own emails. Smiley smile
