Question for late June/early July brides: what kind of guidelines is your venue giving you if it’s up to them to postpone or cancel? Also, has any venue communicated possible restrictions that would be implemented if it isn’t postponed or canceled?

July 17th Bride!! Time is ticking away, but I have faith in the Lord and I know he has plans for me! Whatever his plans are, I will make the best of what I have! I have the faith it will still work out. I feel blessed that I was already planning a smaller wedding, under 50 guests, so I am hoping that will be a part of my saving grace!

Best wishes for all the brides going through decisions on what to do and moving forward!

Sending lots of love and prayers!Smiley heart

I'm cheering for all of us. We have family traveling across continents as far as Africa. With NJ extending the lockdown till may 8th. We really didnt have much choice to move forward. There are a lot of flight restrictions. We decided to make the decision to postpone our June 6 2020 date to june 26 2021. It was a very difficult decision but I feel a bit relieved knowing that our vendors worked with us except our florist who requested a new deposit rather than use our initial for our new date. It was a small deposit but I just so annoyed by it (lol). none the less she'll be getting dropped and I'll be looking for a new florist.

I understand how you're feeling. We had to postpone our March 22nd wedding to June 28th. At the time, our venue was hopeful June would be safe and wanted to give us a date that wasn't too far from our original one. Now I'm worried that it still may not be safe. Smiley sad

Well...we joined the club a few weeks back.

    FORMER June 27th Bride.

    CURRENTLY December 12th, 2020 Bride.

We think by Q4 we will be able to have a wedding that will be possibly smaller than we had originally planned but closer to normal than what we would of had in June. The state we live in has Shelter in Place until June 10th and who knows about large events and social distancing. We just couldn't ask people to travel from all over the country to join us for a day where they cannot be within 6 feet of each other. It was a difficult but easy decision and our vendors made it a seamless transition. We do not have a back up to the back up yet if Covid is still present or re-emerges this fall, but we will get there when we get there.

Good luck to all the Summer Brides!! If we were a smaller group and local it would be a different story, but it was just not going to be in the cards for our wedding. I'm loving the idea of a winter wedding and everything we are doing to "winterize" our decorations and wedding feel. It honestly almost feels like winter was our meant to be wedding season. Plus, our new date will be just over 2 years since our engagement, we will be together 5.5 years by our wedding day.

I will say that we postponed so far from June 14 to August 9.My fiancé suggested postponing it to next year but the scientists are saying that human civilization has already changed and it’ll be part of our society for decades to come or longer -we might get a 3rd-4th wave similar to Korea and Japan. So really August this year is (so far) the least risky for us because of the lull in the curve plus people who are unable to come won’t and it lessens the guest list. It’s also before this year’s flu season and cold months.A vaccine may be out (depending on how effective or not our current governments are being 😒) by August or Oct next year.
Really you have to believe in a higher power so be it since this is barely within our control. But also it’s difficult because no one wants to spread it to their guests and elderly relatives making people sick.

Our original date was 6/19/2020. We just decided on doing a very small ceremony with just our parents that day and doing a big reception in November.

June 13, 2020 bride here... So we have decided to change our date to September 12, 2020. Our venue was pushing forward with the date, however with some restrictions. Therefore we decided to change it so that it was safer for guests and there were not as many restrictions.

Silver lining is we have more time to plan. More time to save the money needed. As well as an opportunity to give our guest more time to consider what their travel plans.

Appreciative of all you wonderful ladies who have shared on this thread. Made me feel like I wasn't alone! Smiley heart

I rescheduled my original date 4/24 to 6/19 this year thinking that would be enough time but now idk. I am so sad. We might just go ahead and get married I am tired of all this. Technically we can still have our wedding because in Texas weddings are resuming but with social distancing guidelines, but we don’t want those guidelines at our wedding. We are just waiting a couple of week to see if those guidelines will still apply if so, we’ll probably postpone to August 15th. I hope everything is fine by then. I hate all of this. This engagement season has been hard as it is being long distance 😭. I know some of y’all live with your fiancé already but we’re waiting until we’re married to live together and it sucks not being able to see each other everyday. We only see each other once every 2 months
