Also, people who are pushing their wedding until winter/spring next year - there is ZERO guarantee that even if the virus "goes away" that there won't be another round of outbreaks next winter/spring! My heart breaks for people whose weddings are this summer and vendors won't let them do a limited guest ceremony/reception on their original date and are forcing them to change their dates/cancel
Hello! I was a June 27, 2020 bride in Westchester NY. We made the decision last week to postpone. I can't see the way things are going that things will be back to normal by June. Social distancing will still remain in place in some capacity and I dont want this virus overshadowing my wedding and want my 300 person wedding we envisioned. With that in mind, my planner and I decided to post pone to June 2021. It was a tough decision because I was adamant about not changing the date but now that I did, I feel so much more relieved. My cousin getting married in August of this year on Long Island also post-poned to next year
I am also a corporate event planner and general feel of our industry is that 2020 is a wash for large events, but still hopeful for Q4.

I'm glad you were able to find something that works for you. As a corporate event planner what do you think about weddings for 10 people or less?

Hi Elli I’m starting to be with you on this as well. With the news last night that we may have social distancing till 2022 and they’re saying no sports or any kind of events till May 2021. It makes me tear up. But praying for you and all you AMAZING Brides!
Yes, keeping the faith here. I too had to postpone my wedding to July 25, 2020. Still hopeful, and you're right this too shall pass. Thinking of all the brides.

I can relate for my wedding was postponed until October. We haven’t set a date because our venue is closed during this time. I emailed the coordinator but haven’t received a reply so everything is still up in the air, so to speak. We are both less stressed now and hope that by July/August this will be over and there won’t be any more delays having to happen. Unfortunately, not all my vendors are available on the date we would like so I’m back to searching again but it’s limited being that there’s nothing definitive as of yet!
Trese, thank you so much for your positive post. This morning I began to worry & feel a little down about my August wedding. I am so worried I’m going to have to postpone again & it’s just frustrating. Best wishes to you!

Smaller gatherings we think will be fine, even though we are social distancing once can argue ten people are in one household. I wouldn’t worry about a small gathering of 10. It is when you get to over 100 is where it gets tricky. Venues are going to comply with the state laws but if you are having a backyard wedding it’s more up to you as to what you think is reasonable to get away with
Wow alot of June 6th weddings - that brings a smile to my face! I finally made peace with a modified wedding with just close family and live stream for everyone else, but it took me a smooth 2 weeks to rise up and stomp the devil down. He almost had me, but God renewed my strength and joy. Never been more excited to marry my best friend even if it's just us and the officiant. We'll push the larger reception out to our anniversary so we can relax a bit, but loving all the love and support here on the blogs. Ahh just think, we'll be able to look back at this and smile at how we overcame this crazy time. Cheers to current and future celebrations!

LOL same - we are excited about how to pull it all together again. We even thought of an idea last night that when we make our final plan, we’re going to record a video message to all of our guests to explain to them what our plan is since more than likely there may be some people who will no longer be able to come so we thought a video message would be a nice touch. Yeah, I feel you on the Plan A, B, C - we’re just wingin it at this point until we hear more from public officials. Praying that all of your plans, whichever one you land on goes off without a hitch and honors the Lord! We are trusting in the Lord because we know that God has a plan! 🙌🏾

My wedding is August 15 too! I’ve been so nervous and upset. Trying to stay positive, but some days are harder than others. My mom just postponed my bridal shower to July 11. My bachelorette was going to be in NYC, so that’s basically shot... ): I know my bridesmaids, mom, & FMIL will make sure they do whatever they can to make it all special, but of course it’s tough because things need to be done differently.

It is definitely such a tough time for us summer brides right now! I hope that all goes as planned for you and that you are able to still have your bach party in NYC somehow!

Thank you ❤️ I hope all goes as planned for you and all the other summer brides too. Trying to stay strong and being hopeful. What’s meant to be will be and trying to be hopeful that whatever happens is a beautiful day for all of us.
Ours is set for October 3 in Indiana. I am worried but haven't made any decisions yet. If June comes with bad news we'll have to really think about it.
