Hey Emily, My planning is slowly chugging along. The most pressing thing right now is planning the music, everything else is just waiting to pay the deposits for catering and flowers. Some days I wish we would have eloped but most of the time I feel pretty good about the planning!
Getting married June 8th, 2019. Still sooo much to do. The stress is unreal. People with sleep disorders should not be allowed to plan a wedding. I had to cancel and re order my invitations THREE times due to making mistakes haha. At least I caught the mistakes before it was too late to cancel.
I'm getting married June 8th too! I still have so much to do and my fiancé has not been the most helpful due to being a coach for wrestling at both the high school and youth levels. We still have another week before youth is over and he will start to focus on something other than that.
Trying to get invites order this weekend so we can get them out soon. We have our venue (my parents house), my dress and shoes, girls outfits ordered, photographer booked and the caterer booked (brother in-law). My stress level is increasing daily but he seems to oblivious about stuff needing to be booked! Anyone else dealing with this?
Lack of help from fiance??? Kat I completely get it. He has no interest in anything to do with planning the wedding. I have done most of his checklist for him since he did not complete items in the necessary time. Anyone else??

Girls I get it!!! Both me and my bridesmaid who's wedding is a month before mine have been dealing with so much stress from SO not picking up the slack. Honestly I think they don't get how much is left to do. Fights happen about this and then a few more of their parts of the to-dos get done. It sucks that that's how it goes but so far I've found every bride is going through the same. Just try to five your future husband two to three tasks and when they finally make them give them a few more. They are secretly as stressed as you but won't pull their weight till you make them.
I'm doing mostly everything myself. Still have two bridesmaid dresses to finish sewing and alter. Still have my wedding dress to finish; I'm altering it right now. Then I need to make my veil as well. Still have 6 centerpiece bouquets to make out of paper peony flowers. I bought my fake flowers for bridal bouquets, but I still need to put those together. Then I'll make some cookies (Pittsburgh side of PA, so a cookie table is a must). I'm baking my own wedding cake; I'm brainstorming now, but won't worry about making it until the week of the wedding so it's fresh versus any you would buy at a store. I'm also doing marigold seeds as wedding favors where I bought a bunch of seeds in bulk and will be printing my own packets. I have them designed already. Then we have to finish marriage counseling classes.
But everything else is together. I know I still have stuff to brainstorm and get done, but I was always taught do things little at a little and it will get done. And I kinda got tired of stressing a few weeks ago whenever I needed 4 bridesmaid and out of about 10 girls, only 2 said yes. I don't really have anybody else to ask, so I'm getting creative with 2 bridesmaid for 4 groomsmen.
I'm traditional to where I'm not living with my fiance until he is my husband, so I need to move my stuff from my apartment and my mom's and 1.5 hours to our house. I take a few things each weekend that I won't be using for another 2 months, or have him take it. We still have to get our house updated a bit, but what get done is what we get done before the wedding. We're having a couple's shower with gift cards 3 weeks before the wedding. So his parents are planning that. I just finished designing the invites today. And then I still will have our garden to plant in May too.
So, if you have less than this to do, I wouldn't be stressing that much. Just make sure to get it done. If you have more to do than this, don't worry. You'll be able to get it done.
I ordered my invites and rsvps already. I got them and then English teacher in my noticed usage mistake. I asked fiance and family to look at it to see if they noticed the mistake. They didn't know what I was talking about, so I sent them out like that. Not that big deal.
June 8, 2019 here! It is amazing how time seems to be speeding up! I got engaged last May and really, up to maybe February, I thought it was going pretty slow. Now...it is on fast forward. I can't wait !!!!
I'm sewing my own wedding dress. I have to alter the top. But skirt is done. Pleated and lace trim hand sewed on the bottom. It has a blue floral print covered with a chiffon overlay for the skirt. I'm been told I'm crazy for sewing my own dress, but no other dress would have the floral on it that I want. I'm wearing my 6-ring civil war hoop skirt with it. So the air flow will be nice on my legs. We're having it at local firehall to our church and they have AC. And there's a park next door to firehall, which is really nice for guests to stretch their legs.
But I was thinking about making a floor length white lace dress for leaving the reception. But who knows if I'll be able to make it in time.
I feel the same way!! Somehow, I lost the months of January and February there! Haha. But, I am not panicking just yet...taking each day at a time really helps! I just hope I am not forgetting anything majorly important.
For a wedding gift, for several months I worked on creating a customized book from me to him with lovebook.com. It is amazing and completely customized, unique to us. I finished it and it should arrive within a few weeks. I highly recommend it!!!
Hey there Haley! I'm getting married June 8th also! Congratulations! And we have just about everything set up, venue, photographer, dj, cake, the only thing that's left is the scheduling for the rehearsal which is a little stressful because not everyone from the wedding party can be there since it'll be out of state for most. So I'm praying everything works out smoothly! How is it going with your wedding planning?!
