Hello! My fiance and I live in Minnesota and we will also be having our wedding in Minnesota. Most of his family lives in California. I will be having a bridal shower here with my family but I do not want to leave his family out or have them pay for flights twice in one year to come over to the bridal shower and the wedding that will be here.

Therefore, I thought that having a shower in California would be a good idea (and a fun little mini vacation!). He is very close with the women and men in his family so I was thinking of having a joint wedding shower!

Have any of you ever had a joint wedding shower?? If so, what did you have for prizes? What did you do for games? We so far are thinking of having a flip cup tournament and having some beer/wine/alcohol for gifts. Any ideas or advice is greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Do you mean a couples shower? We had two couples showers. We didn’t do anything different besides having men and women invited. We did the games about who knows who best, ate, and opened gifts!

A joint wedding shower would be if you’re having a shower with another bride or couple. I’m assuming you mean a wedding shower? I don’t think you really need to do anything differently. Flip cup would be appropriate I guess if your shower is going to be extremely casual and you want a college party type of vibe.

I think you mean a couples shower - if so, we had one. Like Kelly said, we didn't do anything differently from a non-couples shower. We still played games (ice-breaker game, wedding jeopardy, toilet paper wedding dress - the guys had a lot of fun with that one - and a wedding word scramble). The prizes were mainly edible like candy and chocolates.
