Joint Bachelor/Bachelorette Parties

Have you been to one before? As a bridesmaid/groomsman would you be disappointed by it being jointed or just as excited? I think the guys and gals would do different things during the day but would meet up in the evening to go out together.

It's a nope for us. The party will be about me and my friends and his will be about him and his. We're both big proponents of having separate time with friends overall, so it's really important for us that they be separate.

We aren't doing the bachelor/bachelorette party. FH and I don't want them, but we decided the guys will go out and paintball or something and me and the girls are going to the spa, then we will all meet up for dinner and something after. If the BP doesn't want to go out after they don't have too.

I'm sorry but it's stupid. You have your whole lives to spend together with friends and each other. My fiancé got invited to one and all but two people declined. It's like having a joint Facebook and a joint bachelor bachelorette party. Absolutely not.

We are thinking about doing this. We will have been together 10 years by then. Our entire BP are all one big group of friends that are mostly married to/dating each other anyway. We are thinking separate days, drinks together that night.

I don't see a problem with it. I personally need a moment to be goofy and drunk with my girls because I dont get with them often. He is having his gathering at the shop with his fellas. It will be around March Madness so it's idea for him. And I'm having a day of pampering and a night in with the girls with plenty of games and laughing. No strippers or anything like that and we both respect each other and support the idea of keeping it clean fun. To each it's own but this is what is going to work for us. Do what you want. If it feels right and everyone is cool with it go ahead and enjoy your night out with each other.

I think it's nice to have the night to just you and your girls, and then meet up for a night cap with the guys. But I wouldn't suggest a combined party.

I wish we were because FH gets to go to Universal Studios and I want to go Smiley sad haha. I am so jealous!

But seriously, I don't know if I would want to do that. All of our friends don't know each other so I think it would be weird but I could see how it would be fun if they did. I think it really depends on your friends and your preferences.

We are doing a bachelor / bachelorette weekend excursion in New Orleans. Separate houses or hotel rooms. The idea for activities is for guys and girls to go do our own things in the days on Friday and Saturday and designate a big party night for the girls and the other night for the guys. We could go out the same night and party separately with a chance of bumping into each other briefly at some point in the night. Then all hang out together on Sunday (brunch, swearing off alcohol forever, etc.)

I don't think that either group, my BM's or his GM's, would have as much fun if we were all together! We like doing totally different things. We are going to Asheville for a weekend and we're going to go bar hopping (with Harry Potter themed shirts!) They are going golfing and out to dinner. Definitely wouldn't work for us, but to each their own!

I've been to one and it was awesome, we all hung out at the beach together and went to the clubs at night. Sometimes we separated but it was all low pressure and fun. My fiancée and I will be doing ours together! Probably split up sometimes with our people but we'll just see how it flows
