Jewelry help please!

Connie, on June 1, 2021 at 10:32 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 8

Besides my engagement ring and stud earrings that I wear only so that my ear piercings don't close up, I do not own any other jewelry so I am completely and utterly lost as to what would go well with my dress. I definitely want silver/white gold/rose gold jewelry (not a fan of yellow gold) and would love some help and suggestions. Please teach me the ways of jewelry! Smiley smile

My dress is pictured below and will be that same color (mix of moscato and ivory). I plan on having my hair in some sort of up-do (TBD what specific hairstyle) with the below headband and will be wearing a floor length veil during the ceremony. Thanks for the help! Smiley smile

Hello again dress twin! I’m not a big jewelry person either. I will be wearing simple earrings & MAYBE a bracelet. I think a necklace would take away from the beautiful neckline. Since you’re wearing your hair up, some statement earrings would probably look great, but not necessary imo.

Have you considered your bustle yet? I have been researching them a lot and there isn’t much out there that shows a bustle for a train this long and heavy!

I agree with Christy that a pair of statement earrings would look lovely. Maybe a bracelet if you're feeling it, but I think the dress really speaks for itself. Gorgeous!

Hello again to you as well dress twin! Smiley smile Thanks, that's a great point on the necklace! I am still anxiously waiting for my dress to come in so I am just distracting myself for all other accessories.

For the bustle, the sales consultant recommended that I do a 5-7 point American bustle to lift the skirt up to the waistline, and it didn't look toooooo puffy when she did a mock version. That said, I don't particularly enjoy the look of bustles in general so I plan on asking my seamstress when the time comes if it would be at all possible to do a ballroom/bubble bustle or at least do ballroom/bubble bustle on the under layers of the dress and only do the American bustle on the outer most layers to make it look a little more natural. And for general practicality for walking around prior to the ceremony (and in case the bustle breaks during the reception), I will be asking my seamstress to add a wrist straps onto the train.

Sounds like you and I have a lot in common 😂 My dress is supposed to arrive in August but my 1st fitting won’t be until January or February. I want to be prepared. We aren’t having dancing (except for our 1st dance), just a dinner reception. So, I won’t be doing much other than table visits & mingling. The wrist loop is very appealing to me, but not sure if the train would just be too long (it is SO long!). It sounds like you are just a bit ahead of me on your timeline (my wedding is April 9, ‘22). When is your dress set to arrive?

My dress is also supposed to arrive in August Smiley smile Planning on starting alterations in December so I can try to give you a heads up on what my seamstress says. Yeah the train is crazy long, I'm going to see if we can place the wrist loop somewhere that kind of naturally makes the train drape over my arm.

I’m terrible when it comes to picking jewelry. My dress looks a lot like yours! Sorry if this is TMI but have you decided if you are wearing a bra with this dress? I’m so worried about not wearing a bra but almost no way to wear one.
