Jewelry advice

Hello! I’m new here (and recently engaged!). We have some decisions made tentatively. We will get married in the summer in the mountains with an outdoor ceremony. I’m so excited! I’ve chosen a dress, but haven’t quite purchased it yet. I rarely wear jewelry or dresses or makeup, and I’m so excited to get dressed up! I am attaching a picture of my dress and a picture of my hair how it will likely be next year. I’ve been keeping it short and it’s naturally curly.

Do you you have any suggestions for what type of jewelry I should wear? My FH practically melted when I told him that I tried on a tiara my sister picked out for me, so I kind of want to get one of those. Would that look alright or should I go for just a fancy comb or clip or nothing? I have some diamond studs that my sisters got for me, and I’m torn between those and finding a pair of drop earrings because I think those would look good with my short hair.

Congratulations! That dress is so pretty and I can tell you’re going to look beautiful in it! I can picture you in it 😍 I think for hair, you should do whatever you’re most comfortable with! I love the simple elegant look when it comes to jewelry, so i’d probably personally choose earrings based on whatever you’re wearing in your hair. If it’s a more fancy tiara or something, I’d probably lean toward simple studs. You will rock it whatever you choose! Happy planning Smiley smile

I think a headband or ribbon with sparkles or gold with drop earrings would look lovely!

Thank you both for your input! Do you think I should add a necklace?

Welcome to the WeddingWire community, Kimber!

Congratulations on your engagement Smiley smile

This is a beautiful dress, the cap sleeve is so elegant!

I agree with Emily. If you would like to wear a tiara, keep it simple with stud earrings. If you’re going to wear some other type of hairpiece or none at all, a drop earring would be lovely! I do think drop earrings would be gorgeous with your haircut!

Whether or not you wear a necklaced depends on what other jewelry you decide to wear! If you wear the drop earrings, a necklace may be too much. If you wear the studs only, a necklace could add extra sparkle. However, if you’re wearing the studs, tiara, and necklace, it may be too much together!

Will you be wearing a veil?

That dress is beautiful, you will look fabulous on your big day! I think the studs you gave your sister and a necklace with some bling would match perfectly.

I kind of want to wear a necklace, but I’m not sure if the neck would be too crowded wince the sleeves are rather wide at the top. When I get the dress I’ll put it on and come up with some options for sparkly hairpieces. I’m not sure yet if I’ll have a veil, but I’m thinking I will. It’s wedding-y, so I might as well!
