Ivory/Champagne vs Solid white

Gorgeous dress!

My extremely Catholic (likes goes everyday and practically runs the show) grandma saw my blush wedding dress and was not thrilled in the slightest but what mattered most to me was how much I loved it and how beautiful it made ME feel.

Ivory, champagne, ecru, eggshell, etc. All are still essentially white. Your uncle's wife sounds like a real see you next Tuesday.

You'll be fine. Ivory looks white and no one will be able to tell the difference.

Also, here's the thing. When I went dress shopping, I insisted on a pure white dress. I have dark hair and tan skin so I actually wear a lot of white and like it. The woman said white photographs like icy blue and that you really should go with ivory, even if you can pull off white. I still insisted on white. You know what? She was right. Do you see the blue tint on the dress versus the ivory cape. The cape looks white, the dress looks blue.

It's beautiful! I tried on many dresses & felt that white really washed me out. Also, you can't see all of the lace details with white on white. I don't think you should worry about it.

Your dress is beautiful! We had a full Mass for our wedding and my dress was ivory. No one will be able to tell the difference between ivory and white.

Omg mine is ivory over champagne too. No, you won't get criticized. Like PPs said, MOST don't look great in true white. Your dress looks GORGEOUS on you. Rock it.

Uh, what??? That dress is white. Most people don't wear a snow white dress -- it washes you out unless you are very tan or have darker skin.

I'm catholic and get married in a catholic church, my dress is "antique ivory"... seriously this is nothing to lose sleep over, your dress is beautiful!

My uncle's wife criticizes everyone and everything, too. We avoid her like the plague. We've always chalked it up to her ego, always having to know everything, and always having to be right (narcissism?)
