It's gonna rain!

FutureMrsR, on May 17, 2018 at 11:32 AM Posted in Planning 0 26

It's definitely going to rain on our wedding day on Satursday (which is honestly fine because it was looking like it might thunderstorm, and that would have been a disaster)! Looks like our wedding will be moving indoors, but luckily, the venue is just as pretty inside as it is outside! Any other brides/grooms in the same boat?

Tell me about your rain plan (if you needed one) or share pics if it rained on your wedding day!

It rained my entire wedding day. Our ceremony took place in the venues basement bar, which worked out really well since we had a 1920s theme wedding and the bar has a very speakeasy feel to it.

We are renting a beach house on stilts and also has a large screened porch in the back and big den. My fingers are crossed our ceremony will be on the beach, unless Mother Nature has different plans, lol

I'm sorry you're gonna get rained out, but at least you're looking on the bright(ish) side, lol.

Also, your forum title reminded me so much of Steve Reich on Family Guy Smiley xd

One of my clients had her wedding in Jamaica and it began to rain as she was walking down the aisle but it cleared up almost immediately! If you are religious, rain symbolizes a blessing of abundance so don't worry!!!

We are having ours in August in Indiana, worried it's going to be very hot & muggy. Or rainy with a heat storm! Never know around here.. we will keep it short & get everyone in the a.c. for the reception.. we are getting married under the willow tree so that will shade a bit!

I’m looking now at rain clouds today, my wedding day! Still hoping we can be on the beach for the ceremony. You just need to roll with it!

Oh no, this actually happens quite often. After all, the weather is the one thing we can’t control. However, I’m glad you’re able to move your ceremony indoors! I think you’ll still have a beautiful day! Be sure to show us your BAM pics!

I'm getting married tomorrow- Friday and it's going to rain/pour all day. Kinda bummed my ceremony got moved inside but as long as I can still get pictures I'll be okay with it. I'm getting married at a winery so it the rain is ruining it a tad. Oh well! What can we do right!

It's currently "misting" in Oregon but it should be sunny and 76 for our wedding on Saturday! *Knock on wood*

We are getting married outdoors in late June in the Philly area, so our backup plan is for excessive heat or rain. The venue just has the ceremony in the foyer area, I believe. It's still really beautiful. They give you until the morning of to decide if you need to go with plan b.

Right now it's scheduled to storm on our wedding day which is June 16. I'm not stressing too much because it can change so easily. I have been freaking out trying to figure out how to arrange the seating/venue for an indoor ceremony. hopefully it doesn't come to that!

Glad you have a good back-up plan in place! If it rains we'll probably get married inside the cabin we're staying in which is fine since it has gorgeous redwood walls and a vaulted ceiling with skylight. I'd probably add a bunch of candles to the staircase and have it right there in front of the stairs!

Good luck this weekend, can't wait to see your BAM!

My wedding is tomorrow and the place we are getting married was on the news yesterday for intense flooding, lots of damage and roads closed. So yeah. Its been raining since and won't let up any tomorrow. The venue is worried they wont get the parking lot ready in time. They keep saying it's going to be fine. The venue is a permanent tent next to a manor but the manor can't fit everyone. So I found out the hotel has a ballroom that is available. Worst comes to worst, we will book that, opt for the open bar package, and order pizza. We luckily got wedding insurance so if the venue backs out, we won't lose any money on anything. Still I'm a wreck. Good luck to you! Know it could be a ton worse (I keep trying to tell myself that, although I feel like the worse now).

Happened to us! Week before: sun. Wedding day & mini-moon: RAIN. Week after: sun.

But...the it was a light rain during our first look photos which made for amazing lighting (and no squinty eyes). We were forced into our Plan B ceremony spot which was even better! Instead of on the lawn by the lake, we had a private patio overlooking the lake. The patio looked like a ship which fit our pirate theme perfectly. It rained after ceremony and we were all escorted to the wine cave under umbrellas by the staff (only 15 guests). The rain seriously added to our pirate theme and was so magical and misty.

It rained/snowed on our day. Rain was pretty much expexted considering we got married in april, but snow was a shocker lol. Honestly it made for beautiful pictures! ours was inside, but in a greenhouse so we could see it flurrying outside. then when we did pictures, we went outside and used the umbrella as one of our props. wish i had the pictures to show you, but im replying from work :/

Ha! The day before our wedding, and our garage just broke. We’re locked in! 🙃 Now to call the landlords (when I should be getting ready to get married — in the rain). Ah life is nothing but curveballs!

My venue has great indoors and outdoors spaces. My rain plan is a follows
    1) bury the bourbon the month before for good luck in the weather department
    2) I have purchased wonderful bright coral/red wellies. Even if the weather is great, we are going looking for snakes and salamanders in our wedding clothes. My sweetheart is a big nature guy!
    3) I just plan to embrace it and have fun! Some of the best wedding pictures are out in the rain. My photographers come prepared with dozen of umbrellas for the entire wedding party.
