Is/has anyone done a diy Coffee Bar?

Kayla, on July 31, 2019 at 9:59 AM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 4
If so how did/do you think it will turn out. We love coffee, but the quotes we've gotten to have a barista come are stupid high, like $1000 high. We don't want to expend that much, but we have 200 something guests and we want it to look nice! My main concern is constantly filling up the Keurig's with water or keeping the area neat.

I did a boba bar diy because when I got quotes it was also ridiculous too.
From what I've seen, most people do usually either use a Keurig or hot water boiler or those carafes that already have the pre made coffee kept warm that people can self serve. You could always designate someone to check up on the coffee bar every now and then. Make sure to have the sugars and creamers and stirring sticks Smiley smile for some added fun you can even have flavoring syrups on the side !!

    Hi Kayla!

If you wanted to DIY a coffee bar using a Keurig, perhaps you could speak with your caterer or venue about hiring a server to man the area, keep it clean and replenish it.

Would you have a budget for this?

We're also doing a DIY coffee bar. Ours is going to have 2 Keurig machines, multiple types of coffee/teas to brew, creamer, sugar, stir sticks, etc. Our table cloths are floor length and we're planning to "stash" the extras that will be needed under the table in a bin. That includes the extra gallons of water that will be needed to keep the machines flowing. I think if you just have a couple of people randomly checking-in on it, you should be good. That's what our plan is, since we don't want to hire an additional server just to ensure there is water in the Keurig. Good luck and best wishes!

We have a coffee truck (like a food truck) in my area. I've also seen some bar carts or bar trucks (like mobile bars) that have the option to service alcohol and coffee.

I plan on having a coffee bar but my caterer is just going to have the carafes of coffee and I'll have multiple cream flavors and sugar/splenda.
