Is this too much for catering?

We are paying for almost everything ourselves, and need to keep costs down. The catering is by FAR the biggest expense. I live near Chicago, so maybe that's why everything is so expensive. Basically everything is about 5K for 75 people, including linens and plates and stuff, but without any alcohol....

That is alot of money. wow. Makes me wanna cry. I am paying about $1750 for 50 people. Including linens, cutlery, plates, staff, bartender, cleanup, cake cutting, and gratuity and taxes.
Glad things are cheaper here.

Cara- I'm actually in Chicago and for that price I was quoted a sit down dinner with greek chicken or salmon for about that price but for 150 ppl. I think you should look into other options. I love the Panera idea!

Oh this is so overwhelming. I want someone who has worked the venue before, because the caterer has to do all the set up and take down of tables and everything. Geez, this $5,000 is without alcohol!
