Is this gown too formal for an outdoor ceremony?

I am wearing a silk dress for my outdoor ceremony/reception. Ask me after my wedding!

I have another post on here where you can see it, it's maybe not as big or (possibly) heavy as that one, but it does have a silk over layer.

I think you should wear what you want, especially if you are paying for it.

Well, I have to agree with your mother. Although it's perfect for an evening wedding, it's too formal for a garden wedding.

I think it might be a little too formal but i think its a gorgeous dress! I'm having an outdoor wedding too and now I think my dress is a little too formal also but I don't care I love my dress. Do whatever your heart desires!

That is an amazing dress! It is very formal but it is your wedding and if it makes you happy I say go for it.

It is a beautiful dress and you're the one that's wearing it so it's your choice. Garden weddings don't mandate more casual dresses. Yes, it is easier and less fuss to romp around the gardens in a simpler dress, but if you are willing to deal with all your lovely layers, that's your choice.
