Is this centerpiece too big? Will i even notice my flowers the day of? diy vs real?

I made a centerpiece with on-sale florals from AC Moore, and I was told by two people it looked too big, but a few of my other BMs and FH raved about it. I have to go in person to each AC Moore as they don't do online orders, and I called and they won't do a bulk order. Is it too much? Missing...

I have to go in person to each AC Moore as they don't do online orders, and I called and they won't do a bulk order. Is it too much? Missing anything? I'll add the picture below.

I also looked into afloral today. I can do 4 BM bouquets and mine for ~$120 or so, which is a crazy difference to the $650 I was quoted with real flowers. I also need some flowers for my arch way at my venue, I'll attach a picture. Does anyone know if I can just make two bouquets to attach to it? I think that's what the picture looks like?

What other neat things have you guys done with flowers? Feedback please? Are the savings worth it in the end, will I even care about flowers the day of? In the end, saving $400 seems pretty appealing and I'd rather put it into the bar or our honeymoon/the bar, I suppose.

Thank you.

Are there pros and cons to the garland wire vs floral wire? This may seem dumb, but I can't logically wrap my head around how to attach it with that - would it just wrap around one of the poles to the arch?

@Aleshiae: I gave it a shot and my FH said he liked the flowers more! Lol! Thank you!

@Stormy, LeeAnne: Thank you so much!! Smiley smile

Shanee and Brian: I asked our venue when we do our walkthrough (early next month) if I can't bring a centerpiece with me to give it a try/or at least I'll bring a tape measurer. I'm going to also bring some floral wire I think to see if I can get a bouquet to logically attach lol. Thank you!

FutureMrsS: Thank you kindly! The lanterns were actually 50% off from Michael's. They were originally $20 and since they were "spring" lanterns they went on sale for $10 and I bought out the last 12 they had lol. A.C. Moore does have some nice lanterns too, though, and I know you can also get some for like $7 from Ikea!

Betmant: I tried about 1.5" of foam to prop it up. Do you think 3" total would suffice or so? I'll play around with it, thank you!

    Shai: Thank you!

ThatGirl: Ohh I forgot there'd be so much. I'll see how they look scaled back vs how it is now. I want it to still look full (like all those pretty Pinterest pictures lol) but not TOO big. I'll play around with it once I have some extra flowers. Smiley smile

FutureMrsN14: Oh my goodness that is STUNNING. How did you make the flowers stay like that? Is that a garland? That's beautiful.

Johanna: Omg thank you so much!! I'm sure yours look great!

Becca; That's exactly what I'm doing, thank you! Smiley smile

You need to put it on the size table you are using to see the scale and how it will fit. I think as long as there is enough room for the plates, silverware, glasses, etc you will be ok.

@Daria, thank you! I'm going on the 7th to try it out, my point of reference at our venue was very nice and said I could bring whatever I needed/wanted as many times as possible (within reason) to ensure everything fits beforehand. Fingers crossed, thank you!

Killer job on the floral arranging! If I tried to do it, it would probably be a hot mess!

Have you tried placing your centerpiece on a 60" table to compare? As long as there's room left for plates, glasses, utensils, etc., then I love it! I'm doing something very similar.

@FutureMrsW: I haven't had the chance to yet, but on the 7th I'll be bringing them to the actual venue so hopefully that confirms yay or nay (neigh?) on that. Thank you. Smiley smile

When I went to complete the contract for all my rentals (china, silverware, linen, etc...) They had a space that I could set a full table. I brought a couple parts of my center pieces to get a full idea of the appropriate size. I would definitely be something you could look into. I was VERY surprised that the tables where not as wide as I had imagined and place settings would be a bit larger than expected. I'm going to be making a few changes to my centerpieces based off the experience from my first trial.
