Is this an inappropriate first dance song?

My Fiance and I really love the song "My Eyes" by Blake Shelton and are considering it as an option for our first dance song. Is it too inappropriate or raunchy? Should we be taking the conservative half of our families feelings into account when choosing our music?

The last wedding I went to, the couple's first dance was to Toto's Africa. People take shit way too seriously..

I just listened to it, and I read the lyrics. I think it's fine, but I am not super conservative. I would not feel uncomfortable. First dances where the couple is dirty dancing is much mire uncomfortable to watch.

Music means a lot to me so at every wedding I have gone to I try to listen to the lyrics of the first dance song because I feel like couples spend a lot of time picking this song so its important to them. I don't know the song, but I just wanted to throw my opinion in there because I keep seeing comments saying no one listens to the lyrics but that's not necessarily true in my case.

I'm about as liberal as it gets but to me when you are up in front of your whole family, usually including grandparents and such, I would personally pick a song more about love than sex. This would feel to me like I was watching foreplay. I wouldn't want to have everyone in the room thinking about us having sex later when we are up there dancing. But to each their own and if this is the song you love then that's your call. I would never say to not do something that felt right to you just because it might not be someone else's thing.

Totally agree @Shelby_Erin26. I am a music freak and I'm always eager to hear what the first dance song will be. I feel like they say a lot about them as a couple. I'm also someone who really likes to analyze lyrics so I will 100% pay attention to what the words are. I can hear a song once and know every single word by heart.

Wow! I was not expecting this much feedback on my post. Thank you so much!

I feel like I should probably clarify a couple of things.

I love the idea of the last dance. Unfortunately we are not having a traditional reception with dancing and such. Our first dance is going to be at the altar (It's a vegas wedding).

Also, today was our four year anniversary and he actually bought me a turquoise heart necklace which makes that song even more special for us. He asked if I would wear it as my something blue at the wedding.

For those that haven't heard the song he actually talks about her having a turquoise heart hanging around her neck.

I still haven't decided if we are using the song or not but you guys have given me a lot to think about. Thanks again for the feedback. It's cool to see that there are lots of people on both sides of the issue.
