Is there any way to politely list if you rsvp and can't attend to please let us know?

I've heard from so many that atleast 20-25 people who rsvp don't show up. I have an extensive B list and would like to extend the invite to those who really want to be there in the event someone is unable to make it. Would it be bad etiquette to call those who rsvp'd a week or so before to make...

I've heard from so many that atleast 20-25 people who rsvp don't show up. I have an extensive B list and would like to extend the invite to those who really want to be there in the event someone is unable to make it. Would it be bad etiquette to call those who rsvp'd a week or so before to make sure they are still coming?

    That was my thought process. We are already spending a lot of money, I don't want to pay for someone who isn't even there !! Thanks!!
