Is oxblood/dark wine not acceptable for a summer wedding

Our summer wedding is in Costa Rica during their rainy season. I've been strongly told that this is a fall/winter color. Our flowers are white and green with orchids that have the deep burgundy/wine centers. Am I crazy thinking this color would be beautiful on my two bridesmaids and would tie in...

I think it's gorgeous. The color is darkish but the style is not at all fall or wintery.

My first thought was, "OMG, please don't serve oxblood wine at your wedding!!!"
After I got past my weird interpretation of your thread title, yes, that's a beautiful color for any season.

I think that would look great, especially with the flowers you mentioned. Seasons don't have to dictate colors like PPs have said, but I think this sounds good since you will have some lighter colors also.

June 2018 - my colors are ivory, blush, burgundy, navy, gold. So obviously I think it's a great idea!

Do it! Such a gorgeous color! I'm doing deep teal (maybe switch to emerald) and gold, which according to Pinterest are fall/winter colors, but my wedding is in July. Oh well!

I don't really believe in colors being restricted to seasons because most people look good in darker colors and I want everyone in the BP to feel comfortable. Love the color and the earthy look you described!

Agree with everyone else that this color is perfectly fine! I love this color.
What area of Costa Rica will you be in? I went there last year and became totally obsessed with it. I've never loved a place as much as I loved Costa Rica.

@Steph N. We are planning on Uvita, Costa Rica. Very remote and south of Manuel Antonio. We are going to see the venue in November. Hopefully it works out, or that week will be a crazy rush to find a new venue I've been to CR once before and absolutely fell in love with the people and the beauty of the country.
