Is my dress to small??

Ms.Grays, on September 25, 2015 at 1:51 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 15

The lady at david's bridal informed me that my dress was too small and that is the reason why the dress folds in the middle... Does it look bad ladies, I go for alterations next week.. sigh

This is a beautiful dress! Absolutely love it!! I don't believe it looks too small but I would have to see it in person. I don't think it looks bad at all. If the seamstress can do anything to get rid of the folds then do it but if not, it still looks beautiful!

I love your dress! Its gorgeous! I agree with Alana. I don't think it looks too big, but talk to your seamstress. They know best Smiley smile

The back of the dress gives me back fat. Hopefully I lose weight or I'm just wearing my hair down

My dress did the same thing on the sides, and all the seamstress did was let it out a half inch on each side. The seamstress should be able to fix it if it bothers you, but it really doesn't look bad at all. Your dress is beautiful!

@Ms. Grays-You will make a beautiful bride in that dress, Congrats! Corsets give everyone some "back fat". It's just your skin folding and not sitting correctly in the dress. I have heard that people get their very close friends or mothers to 'tuck' the back fat back into the dress, sort of push it back into the dress.

I think it's gorgeous! Only you know if it is too small, if you are comfortable in it that's all that matters.

I'm gonna be the one to say it. While it's possible it's how you're standing, I do think that the pulling in the middle is because it's a bit tight in the thighs. That's okay though, it can be remedied through just having it let out a bit. The corset back appears to be a bit too tight too (maybe loosen it?). That doesn't mean that you won't look fantastic with a little bit of alterations because the dress is beautiful.

Can I ask, though, why you cropped out your face if your profile picture is your face?

Your dress is gorgeous! Just have them let the sides out a bit. The puckering does mean it's too small.

I'm with Janeen. The thighs don't look too bad, but let them out so you're a little more comfortable. And, the corset is definitely too tight. Do you have more room to loosen it? If not, you might want to get it let out a little in the bust. It's not bad-- you look gorgeous and could wear it as is-- but you'll probably feel more comfortable if you get the alterations done. Don't stress about weight loss this close to your wedding. Make the dress fit you, not the other way around.

Yes - the hip/thigh area needs to be let out just a tiny bit (maybe like .5-1 inch) to let the fabric hang properly. That will remove the folds/creases.

The dress is beautiful. I don't think you have back fat...I just think it's laced up too tight.

It might just be laced up too tight and causing the bunch in the front? It is gorgeous dress, you look great in it! If anything they could let it out just a smidgen and then maybe it won't bunch.

Yes, if it puckers and gives you back fat....it's too small. But it is a gorgeous dress!
