Is LipSense worth the money?

Melanie, on July 1, 2017 at 9:02 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 28

I need your opinions! It seems like an awful lot of money. The only lipstick I've ever worn is the $2 wet and wild kind but it wears off quickly and I need something that won't rub off on my FH Smiley smile

I've heard mixed reviews on it, some really like it and the maintenance that comes with it and others stay away for reasons like pp mentioned. I myself am not using it and going with a matte lip by Mac

I hated it when I wore it. I didn't think it lasted and it was expensive. I wear Jeffree Star and Kat Von D instead and I wear it all day with no issues.

Put foundation on your lips before wearing any matte lipstick and it will help your lips not be as dry and it last a little longer.

I used Anastasia Beverly Hills liquid lip and it lasted from noon until I took it off at 11pm. It didn't dry my lips and it was about $20 at sephora. I've heard really mixed feedback on lipsense

In my opinion, it's not worth the money! I disliked it, but like @ellaenchanted said I have dry lips, so it didn't work for me.

I don't think it is. $40 dollars for a lipstick is insane to me.

I hated it. Very drying and wouldn't stay in in the middle of my lips. I find the bare minerals matte liquid lip color is much better.

I liked it at first, but the last two times I've worn it...it started to come off within a matter of 2-3 hours. I ended up having to remove it completely because it looked ridiculous. I don't have dry lips either, so I'm not sure what the issue is. All I know is that I will NOT be wearing it for my wedding like I had originally planned.

I haven't tried it because I have dry lips as well. For those with dry lips, what do you use? I've never found a lip color that is moisturizing enough and it always ends up looking terrible on me.

If you wear Lipsense lip stains you must wear one of the glosses to make sure the color last. You also need to wear 3 coats to make sure it lasts. I think it's worth it for the day of because you only need to reapply the glosses during the day, not the color itself.

If you like Wet n Wild, try the liquid catsuit lipsticks. They're like $6 and pretty good!

I don't like it. I think it tastes bad. I prefer revlon color stay (between $6 and $10 I think). I have tried stilla, I love it, but I haven't found the right shade for me outside of the store (that is $25 a tube at Ulta). Some ladies rave about wet n wild color pop, but I couldn't find it, but I haven't looked very hard either.

I tried some that my FMIL had last night and it was still on this morning. It burned a little when I first put it on. I feel like as long as you keep it moisturized it would be great. Considering it for the wedding since I won't have my MUA there to retouch me throughout.

For me it burns when I put it on really bad, but once I put the glossy gloss on it feels good. I don't wear it often because sometimes my lips are dry and it wears funny over 6-8 hours and it's a pain to get off and re-apply. However with all that said I will be wearing it for my wedding and wear it for other special events. Other matte lipsticks are not glossy or moisturizing and are not transfer proof if they get wet or you eat something greasy or drink something without a straw. I want to be able to kiss my husband all night on our wedding night without worrying about transferring anything to him. Also I can apply once in the morning and once between ceremony and reception and know I will have perfect lipstick, that is not the case with other liquid lips.

The thing they didn't tell me when I bought a set of lipsense was that you have to reapply the gloss like crazy! You eat, reapply halfway through eating. Kiss your FH, reapply after that. Haven't put anything on for 2 hours, better reapply more gloss! You have to constantly carry the gloss with you to cover and protect the color, otherwise it flakes off and looks stupid. I'd rather have cheap lipstick for pictures and let it wear off and not have to worry about it. Also if you don't like to constant wet look and feel, it won't work because its regular lipgloss.
