Is it worth staying in hotel in your own home town the night of ?

Brittany, on March 25, 2017 at 10:17 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 31

I thought we just drive the night of to our honeymoon destination but we would get there until 1-2 am and wedding ends at 10 pm.

A) get hotel in hometown night of?

B) go to honeymoon destination night of?

We are getting a room for me the night before and the night of for both of us. We have kids though and it's a nice vintage hotel that I would never splurge at any other time so it's worth it to me

We are flying out of Atlanta the next day so we are staying in a hotel there that night so we can sleep in the next morning without having to stress about missing our flight

We are going home, we figured why spend the money but a lot of people I know have gotten a room the night of their wedding. I think either way is fine

We are getting a rooms the night before for the BP. We have a hotel venue & they are giving us the room for the night of. We have OOT guest using our home the night of. Yep, we will have to get this place shipshape the week of the wedding, too : o

I think I would want a hotel near the venue anyway - I plan on having a great time & being way too tired to deal with driving.

We will be because our guests will be. Just makes more sense to not have to drive a half hour home.

Definitely get a hotel room for the night of! You don't want to have to drive all that way after a wonderful, albeit exhausting day/ night. And you may have had some adult beverages which makes driving a no no. Get a room where you can comfortably change out of your gorgeous gown, take down your beautiful up do, wash off your perfect makeup, and get some sleep! Plus, arriving at a hotel/ resort at 1 or 2am is NOT the ideal time to do so. Take it from someone who works at such a place. Congratulations and enjoy your celebration and life together!

Do you plan on drinking at your wedding? Even if you don't, chances are you'll be exhausted after the wedding. I would just stay there and leave in the morning.

I would get a hotel the night of. I would be too exhausted to drive for hours after. You'd be well rested for the drive the next morning!

Definitely just stay in a hotel near your wedding venue!! You will be super tired and it would be VERY stressful I think to try to get to your honeymoon destination that night! Also, your guests may want to after party with you after the wedding, plus you will probably want to have sex before you go to sleep, haha!

We live 5 mins away from our venue, but will be staying at a hotel that's right across the street from the venue. We plan on having some adult beverages, so we can just walk over if we want. Plus we have 4 kids that will be staying at home the night of the wedding. My sister and her SO will stay with them instead of making the 30 min drive back to their home.

Get the hotel room. There isn't anything interesting waiting for you at your destination at 1 in the morning. Plus, your drive will be more fun with plenty of rest, with the sun out and weekend traffic.

We are renting the house we are using for our venue to stay in that night, and then leaving for our honeymoon the next day.

We live 15 minutes away from our venue, and are staying in a hotel. We're drinking, so we definitely won't be driving home...the hotel is literally next door to the venue, so we can just walk there...and I do not want to crawl into the back of a dirty cab, go home, and then have to take another cab the next day to go get our car, plus pay for overnight parking downtown.

I would not fly out to the honeymoon destination the night of. You will be beyond exhausted and it will add extra stress to your day.

I would stay at your wedding location the night before and the night of. I stayed somewhere else the night before and it was a little bonkers getting everyone to the location. Definitely the night of, you're going to want to get as much rest as you can!

There are cottages on the property of our venue and we get one for free for booking our venue. I think I still would have paid for one anyway because it just adds to the night.

We're going home and waking up slowly the next day. You have that luxury when you drive instead of fly!
