do you think it’s too early to purchase? Let me also make mention that I can send in my measurements later, Because I am ordering custom sizing since it is free with the sale. We haven’t even booked our venue yet but plan to do that at the beginning of the year. Like am I going out of order with this or should I just go ahead and buy the dressbecause I am ordering custom sizing since it is free with the sale. I am going to David’s bridal this Saturday to try on similar dresses and if I fall in love with a dress they have that comes out to be cheaper then I’ll go with that dress instead of the one with Coco melody but as of right now the dress I am absolutely in love with and keep going back to is with Coco and I want to order it to get the good deal I am going to David’s bridal this Saturday to try on similar dresses and if I fall in love with a dress they have that comes out to be cheaper then I’ll go with that dress instead of the one with Cocomelody but as of right now the dress I am absolutely in love with and keep going back to is with Coco and I want to order it to get the good deal I have 20% off my purchase along with free size customization.

I just don’t want to get stuck trying to get a dress I am not absolutely in love with and at a good deal.

I bought my dress in 2017 before there was an official proposal because I knew it was what I wanted. We're not getting married until October 2020, so my dress has been sitting in my closet 2 years. I also ordered my reception dress from Cocomelody in September and received it 3weeks ago. I'm in love with it, and couldn't be happier with my choice. The point I'm making is if you know without a shadow of a doubt what you want, and you have the money get it. Its one less thing to worry about later.
The black dress is my wedding dress for Jamaica and the ivory dress (Cocomelody) is my stateside celebration dress.

Idk, that's tough. I like a good deal. But also, I've found other dresses that I'm like ooooo that looks cute too after I bought my dress. I guess if you find the dress of your dreams go for it. But if you just feel lukewarm about them then hold off.

It might be a bit early but you can't turn down a good sale! There's nothing wrong with having your dress this soon (I've had mine for years) you just wait to do alterations until closer to the wedding

Thank you thank you. I love a dress in the new 2020
line but not like the 2 I shared above. And what will
decide if for me will probably be the fabric. I ordered swatches and waiting for them now. As well as an email from the tailors about the cost of some minor customizations. I literally stare at these dresses every day and envision myself on our big day. My FH is going to be floored bc 1 is his pick and he talks about it more than I do. Lol

Thank you all for the feedback.
I do not plan to look at other dresses once I make my decision. Everyone has provided great points either way. Again thank you all

I purchased my dress 21 months out because I found the dress on a sample sale and I couldn’t say no! I have been maintaining my weight for a couple years now so I am not worried about the dress not fitting by our wedding day. I have plenty of room on the sides to let it out just in case though!

I went to David's bridal and got a nice dress but found another one that I really wanted to much pressure at Davids Bridal and they are so expensive. If you found one you really want go for it. In fact now is better in case you try it on and it's not the right look you want you can always have it fixed . David's would not refund my money or let me return it so be careful.

If it’s the dress you want and you love it, I don’t think it’s too early, I would make sure to try it on before ordering it though. I ordered my dress 15 months before my wedding and it took about 5 months to be made. I chose my venue after I chose my dress. Good luck!!

David’s is overpriced for no reason. I can not justify spending $1200 on something im
going to wear ONCE for 4-5 hrs.

I would wait to order after going to David’s Bridal first. It will give you a little more options in case you see something similar. I don’t think it’s too early because you never know when the sale going to be on again and whether or not that particular dress will be in stock or discontinued by then.

I went to Davids w/ the expectation to just try on similar shapes and styles and i showed the consultant my all time favorite dress. She swore she had a dress like it in the store. Well dammit she did. lol I tried it and about 4 others on. she put me in that dress twice. I was sold. AND it was on clearance and the only one in the chain.... only alterations it will need is in my waist bc I have a small waist (36") compared to my 50" hips.

I put down a deposit (only bc i didnt take the "wedding cc" w/ me) and will go pick it up no later than January. I'll get alterations closer to my wedding date.

Oh and it was less than $400 w/ no major defects to the naked eye and will be cleaned. a few of the loose beading and hanging threads will be taken care of during alterations.

I couldnt pass up paying less than $400 for the dress i was going to get from another vendor for $699

Lol, my dress was on super clearance 2 years ago because it was like $300 from DB! I can’t pass up a good sale either and my dress looks really similar to yours as well lol.

Thank you Erin. i actually DID purchase my dress from davids. I wasnt expecting to love it. It was the last one in the store and on clearance. Its an Oleg Cassini FULLY BEADED gown. As a matter of fact its my 2nd pick dress of all the dresses I've been researching. My first pick was from another company that doesnt have a local store but this one I went purchased for several reasons. oh and get this....... it only needs to be let out in the hips about an inch and half OR i can lose a few more pounds and taken in at the bust about an inch (winning on the alterations........

That's great! The Oleg Cassini dresses are beautiful, but the ones I liked are way out of my price range xD I ended up getting a Vera Wang dress that I absolutely love, and the only alteration it really needs is hemming.
